Superman/Batman film is happening

Oh man. That's exciting.

I thought they would have rebooted the batman series before trying this as Christian Bale said he wasnt doing anymore etc.

This was my problem when they announced Justice League after the success of The Avengers.  WB jumped the gun and instead of  investing time in establishing a new batman amongst other justice league characters that would need movies made prior to a JL movie.

I had said at the time about needing someone like Kevin Smith to direct JL film whilst also overseeing the other reboots like Whedon had done..

Without Christian Bale im not sure about this.

I dont think they're going to go with the Justice League film for a while. This is the best thing they could do. Without doing a Wonder Woman and Flash movie, the Justice League wouldn't be able to pull in enough viewers. Especially if they bomb like Green Lantern did. Best thing they can do is to put their two most popular characters in a film together with no other heros to complicate things. Casual fans will only care about the 2 main characters they know anyway.

Well, this is very interesting. I look forward to seeing more. The Batman trilogy was great.

2 new actors? man of steel superman actor & new batman? man of steel superman actor & bale? hmmm. could be good any way they do it.... or REALLY awful.

wow.. i haven't paid attention to comic con because i was away from home for the weekend and only decided now to log on to the internet in the hotel... my chest hurts i think i'm going to have a heart attack and revive myself and try and talk about this one in the morning.

Its looking very likely that it will be Superman vs Batman.

I remember the cartoon "movie" of this. Not bad, but who the hell will the villain be? And more importantly....who will be playing the Superheros???

Henry Canvil will remain as Superman. No idea on anyone else yet. Not due out till 2015 though so plenty of time to decide everything else.

Of course they will.

Superman is the current big movie and Batman has just finished, so Supes will be face, and Bats heel.  It will end with them both on the same side to fight a greater foe (something alien, or lex and Joker teaming up or whatever). 

In fact, watch the last two episodes of the latest Luther series (series 3, not Lex Luther, a British crime drama).  The story of Luther and the vigilante will be similar to the story that plays out in this movie.

I'm as excited for this as I was for the most recent Superman reboot.

If it's Superman v Batman, then it's gonna be shit. Superman is so overpowered, they can't have a fight that is believable that involves Batman standing a chance.

If they team up against a common enemy though, it could work.

Well, it depends what the enemy is, how many enemies there are, I dunno what the plans are but finding an enemy that could give them a good fight will be a lot easier than making Batman equal to him.

Why would they even fight? They are both heroes, doesn't make sense to me.

They've done Batman vs Superman in the comics a few times and its more equal than you'd think. Batman is smart and uses kryptonite to help.

Yeah even the 90 minute cartoon they did "Batman vs. Superman" wasn't bad at all

I think a new actor for Batman would be welcome. Bale is very replaceable as Batman, it's not like he did anything special/trailblazing with the character. He was an average Batman to say the least.

Ummmm.....so I'm not posting a link or anything bc I'm out, but all my friends are talking about is how BEN FUCKING AFFLECK has been cast as Batman....good actor but that's a big fuck no as Batman. I don't think he's a bad actor at all, I just don't see a Batman or a Bruce Wayne in him at all
