Whenever BPN predicts a division, I just say the person he picks at the bottom wins it 😄. J/k, the Pats seem like a safe bet this year, I think next year is the year for the other teams to catch up

AFC East

New England Patriots: 11-5
This is really nothing more than a vote of confidence in Bill Belichick and Tom Brady. Those are two guys that know how to get it done, and they will get it done again this year to win the AFC East once more. The receiving corps is in shambles after letting Wes Welker walk away, picking up nothing more than Danny Amendola to replace him, having who knows what kind of Rob Gronkowski on the team this year with his injuries, and having a murderer recently released from the corps as well. Brady is another year older, and the Dolphins are gaining, but the Patriots have one run left in them.

I agree. With Brady and Belichick, there's no reason to think they can't find themselves in the AFC Championship again. As Brady has proven before, he doesn't need top talent around him to be successful. Good defense, still a good offense, fantastic coach, and Brady is Brady. If Gronk can stay healthy, Amendola be somewhat Welker like, with a decent running game and they will put up numbers. 11-5 is a good prediction I'd say.

Miami Dolphins: 9-7
Miami is getting better. Young teams with lots of cap space, innovative head coaches, and good defenses are never far from having success, and this team is no exception to that. Miami is right on the cusp of the postseason with its roster right now. They really should have invested at least a draft pick at left tackle and failed to do so which was a mistake for largely incompetent general manager Jeff Ireland, but even he couldn't botch the amount of talent on Miami's defense this season.

I'm hoping that they have some kind of plan for the offensive line as I have Miller in my fantasy keeper league, but Tannenhill will also have to be protected if they even wanna get the ball to recent signed Mike Wallace. That being said I really like they're defense and some of the signings they've made. 9-7 makes sense as I think they'll manage to split with the Pats and take two from the Jets and Bills (maybe split with Bills). That's 4-5 wins right there, but when teams have this much roster turnover it can go either way. They could gel and look great or things could fall apart. I really think making the playoffs will come down to the 0-Line, but mainly coaching.

Buffalo Bills: 6-10
The Bills have problems from the top down. Mario Williams was a terrible signing, not just for the system that he was placed in, but also for his ridiculous price tag, and Buffalo is going to be paying for him for a long time.

When I think of the Buffalo Bills and they're issues, Mario Williams isn't at the top of the list. While I agree he was not the best signing b/c of the price tag, he's still a top talent at D. System fit or not, teams plan for him. A terrible signing would have been that of Ryan Fitzpatrick, now that was a bad signing. As for their issues this year, I like pick of QB E.J. Manuel. That being said, they reached pretty bad. They're defense is OK but they're looking at losing two games to the Pats and probably two to the Dolphins and hell they may even split with the Jets. That doesn't look good for their record just in their division. The offense has a rookie QB and the underachieving Kevin Kolb. However CJ Spiller looked great last year (finally) but he may have a bit of a slump, not exactly sophomore slump, but I doubt he's as good as he was last year. Fred Jackson is yet another year older. Stevie Johnson is good but not great, the drafting of Robert Woods was nice but I doubt we see much THIS year. They're TEs do nothing for me and yet another new head coach. I think 6-10 is possible but more so generous. I'd say 4-12 maybe 5-11 because they have the Jets in their division.

Quarterback problems, defensive-minded head coach on a bad offensive team, arguably the worst receiving corps in the NFL, bad running game, and they just traded their best player. I just gave plenty of explanation for a 3 win season without even mentioning the butt fumble.

Mark Sanchez, circus, goofball head coach, very little talent, Geno Smith already having issues in NY. I agree with everything you said. I could see 1-15 or 2-14 very easily happening.

I'm pretty close to agreeing with the prediction... tho the afc east ain't that hard to predict...

Every year in the NFL, there is at least one team that improves from a record of 6-10 or worse to make the postseason. Let's take a look at each division and predict records to see if we can figure out which teams will be back in the postseason, which teams will fail to return, and which teams will improve their ways in.

AFC East

I'll continue this thread every few days with a new division until all divisions are complete.

Patriots win the division cause it's a terrible one, BUT I dont see 11-5, but more of a 10-6. Jets and Dolphins may get one win each against them, and I love Amendola more then the next guy but come on their receiving options has taken a SIGNIFICANT decline. Gronk is a ? for his return date, Welker is in Denver, and Aaron is getting fucked up the ass in Penitentiary. And flip the Jets and Bills. Bills taking EJ MANUEL?! Jets getting Geno Smith a round later? Plus the Jets D is better. I would give the Jets 5 wins, Bills 4 wins, and they battle for worst team which Bills win and are in better position for Clowney.

The only team the Jets may finish higher than is the Jags but that's probably it. Sanchez man......Sanchez

Jets suck. Im a Giants fan, but damn I cant see the Bills being better. Jets D is ok, so I can see them getting 5-6 wins. No more then that.

Rex Ryan gets fired, then they hire on offensive-minded coach to try and get them on track.

Bills have some talent.....Jets traded their best player and have Sanchez!

But seriously Manuel was a reach in the first round but he has some upside. Geno Smith was free falling and now is already whining about NY press and other shit. The team has no chemistry and is always an ongoing circus. Teams like that just aren't successful once they start losing. And last season was as bad as it gets.

AFC North

A quick note on this division before the predictions on it. This was probably the most difficult division to predict, simply because I refuse to trust the Bengals, the Ravens have replaced their entire team, and the Steelers have nothing left but Roethlisberger. If you think I forgot about the Browns, I didn't. The rest of the NFL did.

Pittsburgh Steelers: 10-6
Basically, this 100% rooted in my belief that Ben Roethlisberger will carry this team. Disregard this prediction and change this to about 6-10 if Roethlisberger gets hurt or if he starts to not be great. The Steelers no longer have the best defense in this division. That title now belongs to the Bengals. They don't have the best coach. That goes to the Ravens and John Harbaugh. They don't have the best running back which would be Ray Rice, or possibly even Trent Richardson in the coming years. They don't have the best receiver which is hands down A.J. Green. The only thing that they have left is the best quarterback, which I'll say is enough in what is one of the worst divisions in the NFL and most unpredictable divisions in the NFL.

Cincinnati Bengals: 9-7
Like I said in my prediction for the Steelers, the Bengals now have the best defense in this division. They also have a young gun at quarterback and one of the best receivers in the NFL. That is a great young team in the making. They remind me of the Texans from about 2010 where you could see they were clearly a team on the rise, but the Bengals aren't just on the rise, they've already been to the postseason in each of the last two years. My only issue with them is Marvin Lewis as the coach and the fact that they are the Bengals. They have horrendous upper management and ownership, and that trickles down at some point. They still might be a playoff team this year, but I think they still fail to win this division somehow.

Baltimore Ravens: 8-8
I don't think the Ravens fall off completely. They have the best GM in all of sports with Ozzie Newsome along with my first place tie for best coach in the NFL (with Jim Harbaugh) in John Harbaugh. When you have that along with a playoff tested and overwhelmingly successful quarterback like Joe Flacco, a great running back in Ray Rice, and historically great drafts year after year after year, I think they should be just fine. Just not a playoff team this year after losing half of their roster that just won a Super Bowl.

Cleveland Browns 6-10
Improving defense, improving offense, new head coach, improving team as a whole. Still the Browns.

Only thing I disagree with. Ravens may be the same, Bengals also, but I really believe the Steelers regress this year. As a Big Ten mark Beefy, is Leveon Bell that good?

As for the Browns. Their weakness may be at QB but who knows if Weeden improves greatly. They have maybe a top 5 RB in Richardson, and a very improved and young receiving core. They did great in Free Agency, and I like the improvements they made on Defense. They are my surprising team to watch this year.

I'll give them 8-8 or 9-7.

Can see Steelers going 6-10.

I predict about the same, with 1 win change for the steelers and 2 more for the browns

You guys are really under estimating the bengals... if that team had a solid qb i'd pick them to be in the afc championship this year no doubt.

and the pats will probably go like 12-4 or something because the afc sucks and the east isn't ready yet the dolphins have a lot of potential as well as the bills and jets but they just aren't ready and the jets have taken quite a few steps backwards.

Steelers and ravens are old news they might still be good teams but they are done and the orange teams are going to be steppin up.

and Flaco is a "overwhelming successful qb" ?!? he had one of the best post seasons ever last season yes... but it's laughable that one run covers all that when at the start of last season everyone pretty much expected him to be let go after the season...otherwise he would have gotten a normal deal last year and not some bullshit franchise killing contract.

The biggest thing I agree with is that their defense just isn't what it used to be, at all. People are older and more injury prone. The team does have a history of replacing guys with youth and staying on top, but I just don't see that happening this year or even next. Running game could be good but could also blow and they're O-line is terrible. Big Ben is a good game manager and can absolutely get you wins but he needs more help and protection. I'll say 9-7.

Yeah i kinda feel this way to with the exceptions i made earlier, i don't think the Steelers and Ravens will be very good i'm sure they both really could get to the playoffs and in reality i'd say one of them for sure... but i am certain when i say the bengals will win the north this year and do so in much more convincing fashion i'm not saying 11+ wins but 10 seems fair... the browns i also believe in maybe not this year but i think that team is on the right path now...and it's actually kinda funny to see BPN still taking the safe ESPN picks again. 😉

The NFC though... that's going to take a few for me to really think about... i love my packers and i need to be wise to not over or under rate them... it happens easily.

I think that San Francisco is still the best team in the NFL as of right now though.

That is true, but i'm just being wise to not put them ahead of certain teams just yet i'm really unsure how the NFC is going to be this year it could be almost the same as last year or it could end up being quite surprising and we all end up being way off somewhere which will happy none of us ever nails these season long predictions BPN held onto the Ravens winning the super bowl for like 4 or 5 years until they did haha. 😄 just teasing ya buddy.

I do think the packers will win the north but anything can happen the bears or lions could even shock people and they aren't expected to... the vikings are probably the second best team in the north but i don't trust ponder.

And i expect the 49ers to edge out the hawks in the west and for that matter i see the west as a whole being a better division but the cardinals still have some work to do... i think their D is set though... and the rams are pretty much ready to come out of the oven... but again the QB is in question... will Bradford end up turning the corner and be what St Louis expected when they drafted him? who knows... i kinda have my doubts... should have took RGIII.

I also think the Panthers could be dangerous this year too... i think Cam is going to have a solid season... he had a bad start to the first half of the season which isn't uncommon for second year QB's but he really got it going in the second half of the season.. it was just too late to matter cause they were like 2-8 or something before that then went 5-1. if i'm correct on those numbers.
