4CW Presents… Duskfall
January 3, 2021
Live from Green Bay, Wisconsin

===

Phoenix: Ladies and gentlemen, people of all ages, welcome to the first 2021 edition of 4CW Duskfall! I am Scott Phoenix and I am joined by Olivia Ito!
Ito: And it is a pleasure to join you, Scott! Duskfall is here to provide more of the 4CW action everyone loves! I can’t wait to see what we’ve got in store tonight!
Phoenix: It will indeed be an exciting night! And we’re going to kick things off with none other than the owner of 4CW himself.

We cut to the ring where Sery is standing with a mic in hand.

Sery: Welcome, everybody, to 4CW Duskfall! And first of all, I just wanna say - HAPPY NEW YEAR!

There’s a big pop from the crowd.

Sery: Yes, 2021 is upon us! And after the iconic show that was 4CW Storm Front: WAR IV, we’re officially on the road to Revival XV! Tonight, the new “Franchise Champions” Kinzy Kane and Synth City Thrillers will take on The Supergroup in six-person tag team action.

A decent pop at this announcement.

Sery: And we’ll also have a more traditional tag team match as Black Flame members Erica Moxie and Eli Waters will take on S&M in tag team action! All that and much more coming tonight. But let’s address the elephant in the room here...

A rumble of curiosity from the crowd.

Sery: The main event of Revival is the most coveted prize in wrestling. I am here to announce that next month, our February Storm Front will be a supershow called Storm Front: Declaration! On that show, we will see the return of the Stormchaser Tournament! Eight competitors, one tournament, one night! The winner will face the 4CW World Champion at Revival!

Another pop of approval.

Sery: Now as you all know, Jack Valentine retained the championship at WAR to continue his record-breaking reign-

”Supernova Goes Pop” by Powerman 5000 hits the PA system. Sery sighs as Jack Valentine steps out on to the stage. The fans boo his arrival.

Ito: It seems the Undisputed World Champion has no problem interrupting the chairman!

Valentine: Sery, Sery, Sery… or should I call you Mr. Sery now?
Sery: Sery is just fine, Jack. And to what, I wonder so curiously, do we owe the pleasure?
Valentine: Well, you know… I was backstage, thinking about your year and my year in 2020 and I thought… we’re not so different, you and I. You, on the verge of collapse and devastation, fought to climb back up and become the owner of this place! And I, after my unceremonious leave from 4CW years ago, came back and became the man you see today! The longest-reigning 4CW Undisputed World Champion! You defeated your greatest foe, Rhys Cain. And I defeated ALL my foes, let’s list ‘em! Elfan Simtul, Brian White, Carstein, Tommy Young, Phil McGroin and wouldn’t you know it? Rhys Cain!
Sery: That’s cute, Jack. But this is the return of Duskfall! Unless you actually have a point here -
Valentine: Well, really I was just out here to congratulate you on a great 2020 and to thank you for providing a tournament to find only the single-greatest opponent for me in the main event of the biggest show of the year!
Sery: That’s no problem! The tournament certainly will provide you the single-greatest opponent in the main event of Revival… if you are still the champion.

Valentine frowns.

Valentine: What do you mean, if? I’m holding the belt, dumbass!
Sery: But Jack, old buddy, old pal… Revival is FOUR months away… you didn’t think you’d be coasting right into the main event, did you? Oh, no, no, no, dear boy… see the tournament starts NEXT month at Storm Front: Declaration, but you will defend that championship on Storm Front… THIS month!

Valentine: What? I just defended it against EVERYONE! Who else could possibly challenge me before Revival?

Sery: Glad you asked, because we’re going to find out! In tonight’s main event, there will be an over-the-top-rope battle royal! The winner of this match will face Jack Valentine on Storm Front for the 4CW Undisputed World Championship. The winner of that match will take on the winner of the Stormchaser Tournament, in the main event of Revival! And who will be in tonight’s main event Battle Royal? So glad you asked! Let’s list ‘em: Brian White, Tommy Young, Rhys Cain, Phil McGroin, Xavier Avana, Dark Lotus, Madeline Phoenix, Supreme and Witch Hazel!

The crowd approves of this and starts a “YES! YES! YES!” chant. After the chanting dies down, Valentine gets back on the mic.

Valentine: That’s how you wanna play it? I can beat every single person in that match! And after I win at Storm Front, I’m going to Revival!
Sery: Love the fighting spirit, Jack! I know you went through hell three days ago, so you rest up tonight. You’ve got a big fight coming on January 31!

Sery drops the mic and his music plays, not allowing Valentine a chance to retort.

Phoenix: Sery has spoken! We’ve got a huge main event tonight, a battle royal with a World Title shot for the winner! As well as some thunderous tag team action!
Ito: And that’s great, but first of all, we’re going to go backstage to Grant Zaiden, who I believe has an announcement to make.

We cut backstage where Grant Zaiden is standing in a hallway backstage. The camera man is standing directly in front of him, so Zaiden is talking into the camera.

Zaiden: Last month… or last year... at Storm Front: WAR IV, the Red Rhino finally revealed its presence. With relative ease, I demolished Lindon Jett and got my first win of the series. I told Jett he will never beat me again and I meant it… so we move on to match four, my chance to even the score… and this match will happen on Storm Front later this month! And I know you’re all dying to hear my stipulation, so here it is: Jett, we’re going one on one, INSIDE a steel cage! See you on Storm Front!

Zaiden storms out of the frame and we cut to commercial.

Carson: The following contest is a six-person tag team match scheduled for one fall!

”Superstar” by Lupe Fiasco hits the PA system. Three members of The Supergroup, the two leaders and the only female, head out on stage.

Carson: Introducing first, the team of Zak E Justice, Nik Waverly and Rane … THE SUPERGROUP!!

All three members of The Supergroup do a triple-slow-mo-fist-bump on stage, exploding it in slow motion too. Then, they saunter down to the ring.

Phoenix: As idiotic as they are, I kind of missed The Supergroup while they were under Dark Lotus’ control.
Ito: Endearing and annoying are certainly two words that seemingly contradict each other and yet I can think of no two words better to describe this bunch!

Justice, Waverly and Rane all get into the ring, Rane using the ropes to climb through and Justice and Waverly sliding under the bottom. Justice removes his shades and carefully gives them to a ringside assistant.

”Roadgame” by Kavinsky hits the PA system. Out comes Devon Drummond and Reuben Kojo to a big pop from the crowd. When they arrive at the top of the ramp, their music is replaced by "Those in My Way" by Straplocked and the pop only magnifies as Neon Rain steps out onto the stage. She is wearing the 4CW Franchise Championship around her waist.

Carson: And their opponents, they are KINZY KANE and the SYNTH CITY THRILLERS!!

Phoenix: And the 4CW Franchise Championship will be on the line tonight as Kinzy Kane and the Synth City Thrillers have decided to defend the belt tonight, three days after winning it!
Ito: I admire their cander… now can we just make the belt legitimate already?
Phoenix: Only Sery can do that.

2.png

The match opened with Kinzy Kane and Rane starting the match for their respective teams. The two women go back and forth in fast-paced action but Kinzy soon takes the upper hand. She brings down Rane with a hurricanrana and a dropkick for a quick cover, but Rane kicks out. Rane manages to boot the knee of Kinzy which gives her an advantage. Eventually she takes out Kinzy with a spinning neckbreaker, then brings her to The Supergroup corner and tags in Waverly.

Waverly and Rane take advantage of the five count, beating down Kinzy in the corner. Waverly tags in Justice a few moments later and the process is repeated. Justice brings Kinzy out of the corner with a suplex and then a DDT, but only gets a two count. Justice continues his assault with the Rolling Bro! But only gets another two count. Justice attempts his finisher, The Zak Attack (Bridging Fisherman’s Suplex) but Kinzy reverses into a suplex of her own. Finding a moment's reprieve, Kinzy manages to make the tag to Drummond.

Drummond outworks Justice with ease, swiftly bringing him down with a takedown and immediately locking in a bow and arrow lock. Justice eventually fights his way out of it and reverses an attempt at a Cross-Legged Samoan Driver taking out Drummond with a suplex and tagging Waverly back in.

Drummond and Waverly go back and forth for a couple of minutes, exchanging blows and arm drags. This continues until Drummond loses patience and unleashes Devon’s Demons. After the series of forearm strikes, Waverly is feeble in a vacant corner. Drummond tags in Kojo to finish the job. At this point, Rane and Justice invade the ring, so Drummond and Kinzy meet them, clotheslining them both to the outside! A double suicide dive takes out both members on the outside, and Kojo is able to take out a stumbling Waverly with a REUBENAGE for the 1...2...3!!

Carson: Here are your winners and STILL Franchise Champions, KINZY KANE & SYNTH CITYYYYY … THRILLERS!!

Win-Loss Record:
Kinzy Kane 1-0
Devon Drummond 1-0
Reuben Kojo 1-0
Zak E Justice 0-1
Nik Waverly 0-1
Rane 0-1

Phoenix: Kojo puts away Waverly! A strong showing from Kinzy Kane and the Synth City Thrillers!
Ito: It certainly was! They keep hold of the 4CW Franchise Championship and start off 2021 with a win on their records!

Inside the ring, the referee hands the unofficial belt to Reuben Kojo who raises it in the air. Moments later, he is joined by Kinzy and Drummond and the three celebrate their victory wit the fans at ringside before heading up the ramp as we go into a break.

”Cowboys From Hell” by Pantera hits the PA system. Murder of Crows appear on the stage, Jason Crow with the 4CW Hardcore Title strapped tightly around his waist in jeans and a t-shirt, and Robert Crow, dressed for action in knee-length denim shorts and a black shirt and boots.

Carson: The following contest is a singles match scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, being accompanied by 4CW Hardcore Champion Jason Crow, from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, weighing in at 256lbs… ROBERT… CROOOW!!

Phoenix: We know what Murder of Crows’ new mantra is in terms of Jason’s 4CW Hardcore Championship reign! Anyone who wants a shot at Jason, has to go through Robert first!
Ito: And it seems given that Robert is in action right now, that someone has answered that challenge!

Both Jason and Robert head down to the ring. When they arrive, Jason remains at ringside and Robert slides in. Jason goes to take a seat next to the commentary table, though he does not join commentary. Inside the ring, Robert Crow is raring to go, motioning for his opponent to come out and bring it.

”Muggsy Bogues” by Alltta hits the PA system. A tall, well-built opponent steps out on stage staring down Robert Crow inside the ring.

Carson: And his opponent, from Dallas, Texas, weighing in at 230lbs… JEROME … GRAAAAYSON!!

Jerome Grayson heads down to the ring confidently signalling a belt around his waist.

Phoenix: Well, Grayson certainly looks confident.
Ito: He does, but he should be cautious; both Jason and Robert Crow are nasty, vicious foes for even the toughest men! Mercenaries who will do anything for the money, ethics be damned.
Phoenix: But if Grayson can pull off a victory tonight against the younger brother, he will get his shot at Jason Crow for the 4CW Hardcore Championship!

3.png

Grayson starts the match with the advantage, psyching out Crow with his superior height. Grayson delivers a mean big boot which is when Robert gets pissed off and becomes more aggressive. Robert takes down the 6’8 Grayson with a suplex and a DDT but only gets a two count.

Over the next few minutes, the match becomes gradually more strike-based. The two exchange mean hooks and forearms, and despite his shorter stature, Robert Crow starts to rock and corner Grayson. Robert sends Grayson to the ropes and clotheslines him. Grayson is quick to his feet but Robert sets him up for another DDT. Grayson escapes the grasp of Crow and takes him out with an Alabama Slam!

Grayson continues his attack with a belly-to-belly suplex! Grayson covers Crow but gets a two count. At this point, Jason Crow jumps up on the apron with the Hardcore Championship in hand. Without a second of hesitation, Grayson throws a boot up on the top rope aiming for Jason. Jason gets out of the way in time, and Grayson gets caught up on the top rope. Robert takes prime position to roll him up! ONE … TWO … THREE!!

Carson: Here is your winner… ROBERT … CROOOW!!

Win-Loss Record:
Robert Crow 1-0
Jerome Grayson 0-1

Phoenix: Robert Crow with a statement - or lucky, depending how you look at it - victory over Grayson here tonight - but look at this - Murder of Crows are not finished!
Ito: Oh, come on! This is uncalled for!

Inside the ring, both Robert and Jason are stomping the hell out of a now cornered Grayson. Grayson manages to roll out of the ring and crash at ringside. Right next to Grayson, the end of what looks like a fire extinguisher hose is sticking out from under the apron. As Murder of Crows come from each side of the ring to corner him, he pulls at the pipe and the fire extinguisher comes out with him.

Hardly believing his luck, Jerome Grayson fires away, covering Murder of Crows in a blinding fog. He gets up and flees over the barricade, living to fight for another day.

Phoenix: Talk about luck! Grayson just got out of what would have no doubt been a brutal beating!
Ito: A glorious stroke of luck for Grayson -we’ll be right back! Don’t go anywhere!

6.png

We cut backstage where Rhys Cain is standing by with Gabriel Crowe.

Crowe: Ladies and gentlemen, I am joined by -

Cain snatches the mic out of Crowe’s hand and motions for him to go away with a sweeping hand.

Cain: Be gone.

Crowe walks out without another word and Cain hones in on the camera.

Cain: The past is irrelevant. It is engulfed in flame and burned to ashes. All that matters is tonight. Tonight, I will win the Battle Royal. Tonight, I will earn the opportunity to face Jack Valentine at Storm Front. TONIGHT, the scorched path will continue to burn and lead me directly to the 4CW World Championship.

Having kept his message short and sweet, Cain drops the mic and leaves the area. Phoenix and Ito give us a preview of what’s to come on Storm Front.

Phoenix: Tonight, we still have our main event! A Battle Royal to determine the #1 contender for the 4CW World Championship! Whoever wins that match will take on Jack Valentine on Storm Front!
Ito: But that’s not all! Also on Storm Front, we will find out the brackets for February’s Stormchaser Tournament! As well as all that, we’ll have Lindon Jett vs Grant Zaiden - match four of their best of seven series! And it will be contested inside a steel cage!
Phoenix: We will also see tag team action as Pilgrim Paige and Kinzy Kane team up to take on Hall of Famers S&M - the winners will get a shot at Umbra Maxima for the 4CW Tag Team Championships! That’s all to come at the end of the month, but for now, it’s time for our MAIN EVENT!! Don’t go anywhere! We’ll be back in a moment!

2.png

We come back and the ring is filled with tonight’s competitors for the main event. Brian White, Tommy Young, Rhys Cain, Phil McGroin, Xavier Avana, Dark Lotus, Madeline Phoenix, Supreme and Witch Hazel all stand around the ring.

Carson: The following contest is our MAIN EVENT and will be an over-the-top-rope Battle Royal! Eliminations occur when someone is thrown over the top rope, and both of their feet touch the ground. The last person standing in the ring will be the winner and will receive a 4CW Undisputed World Championship match on Storm Front!

4.png

Carson leaves the ring and referee Anna Molly calls for the bell to ring, leaving the ring herself before the competitors all clash in a medley of mayhem in the middle of the ring. The flurry of melees takes about a minute to break down into smaller battles. McGroin and Tommy Young continue their battle from WAR last month, while Avana takes on Brian White and Madeline Phoenix clashes with Dark Lotus.  Supreme and Witch Hazel also go back and forth, while Rhys Cain evades everyone, trying to stay out of the line of fire.

Ito: Cain making the smart move, but it’s only a matter of time before he becomes involved in the fray!

Young takes out McGroin with a hurricanrana. He tries to clothesline him over the top rope but McGroin slips out of the way and throws Young over! Young holds on and skins the cat back into the ring, taking out McGroin from behind with a clothesline! Lotus piles clubbing blows into Phoenix in the corner, causing her to slouch down to the mat. White easily takes down Avana with a thunderous big boot and then a body slam. White sends Avana to the corner and runs after him, but Avana fights back by lifting a boot. White goes stumbling back into Supreme, who spins him around and takes out White with a DDT. Supreme gets back to his feet only to fall victim to his own DDT from Witch Hazel! Cain then makes his move, taking out Hazel with a superkick! White grabs Hazel in an attempt to throw her over, but Hazel reverses and sends Cain over the top! Cain lands awkwardly on the apron and Hazel tries to superkick Cain, but he swiftly avoids her kick, lunges for her and yanks her over the top rope, sending her crashing to the outside.

Carson: Witch Hazel has been eliminated!

Phoenix: He waited for the perfect opportunity and he struck! Cain eliminates Hazel!
Ito: But now he’s drawn attention to himself!

Cain finds himself fighting off several competitors in quick succession. First, Tommy Young attempts a Tornado DDT but Cain manages to push him off. Young then attempts a superkick, but Cain avoids. Cain takes out Young with a back suplex, but then he has Avana to deal with. He exchanges hands with the rookie, but Avana gets the upper hand and sends Cain to the ropes. Cain ducks a clothesline attempt on his return. He spins on the spot and takes out Avana with an Enziguri! Before Cain can take advantage though, White bursts into the scene and takes him out with a spear!!

Phoenix: RUNAWAY TRAIN! White just cut Cain in half!
Ito: But is he able to capitalise?

White gets to his feet and pulls Cain up. He brings him over to the ropes, but Supreme comes in with a Roaring Elbow which rocks the Freight Train! Supreme grabs the big man and hits a belly-to-belly suplex with aplomb! Supreme grabs White and inches him towards the ropes, but White fights back with a headbutt and throws Supreme over the top rope! Supreme holds on to the ropes, standing on the apron, but he doesn’t see Avana appear out of nowhere and the Custom Cup Champion dropkicks him down to the floor!

Carson: Supreme has been eliminated!

Avana looks down at the furious Supreme, but Avana soon finds himself in trouble too as Brian White grabs him from behind and dumps him over to the outside!

Carson: Xavier Avana has been eliminated!

White turns around and finds Tommy Young. Together, the two of them dive into a brawl with Rhys Cain and Phil McGroin, who have formed a temporary alliance. Meanwhile, Lotus and Phoenix continue to battle, Lotus throwing around the Universal Champion like she’s a bag of air.

White eats a superkick from Cain and stumbles back to one knee. Cain and McGroin grab Young and take him out with a double suplex. But White is soon back on his feet and hits a double clothesline on both men! Phoenix fights back Lotus when he charges at her in the corner, by hoisting herself up on to the turnbuckle and kicking him in the face. Lotus stumbles back and Phoenix stands on the very top turnbuckle, diving off and taking down Lotus with a crossbody! But no - Lotus keeps his footing and catches Phoenix!

Phoenix: Madeline may have been caught out there! She’s in trouble!

Lotus reaches over the top rope and releases Phoenix, but she clings on to him, pulling Lotus over to the apron as well. They both crash clumsily on to the apron. Lotus is up first, but Phoenix kicks at his knee hard in an act of desperation. Lotus loses his footing and crashes down to the floor!

Carson: Dark Lotus has been eliminated!

Phoenix: A huge move from Phoenix! She worked smart, and got Lotus out of there!
Ito: She’s just eliminated one of the bigges threats in this match!

Phoenix gets back into the ring and uses the ropes as leverage to get back to her feet. She sees White headbutting Cain again, which causes him to stumble groggily. Phoenix makes to move forward - but Dark Lotus grabs her foot from the outside! McGroin takes out White with a DDT and Cain recovers, seeing Phoenix in her precarious position, and runs for her! Lotus releases his grip on Phoenix’s leg and Cain clotheslines her straight over the top and to the outside!

Carson: Madeline Phoenix has been eliminated!

Outside the ring, Dark Lotus laughs at Madeline Phoenix’s failure but walks out without another word. Phoenix looks on, furious, clutching her neck.

Phoenix: Dark Lotus just cost Madeline her opportunity at the big prize!

Almost immediately after, Tommy Young springboards off the top rope and takes out McGroin with a Flying Forearm Smash! White finishes the job with a big boot that sends McGroin crashing to the outside!

Carson: Phil McGroin has been eliminated!

Phoenix: And we’re down to three! White, Young and Cain - one of these men will challenge Jack Valentine on Storm Front!

Knowing immediately that he is at a distinct disadvantage, Cain ducks under a charging White’s clothesline and instead charges forward and takes out Young with a Side Effect! Cain is only able to get back to his feet to face another White charge though, and this time is unable to get out of the way in time. White clotheslines Cain over the top rope, but Cain hangs on! Cain sticks a thumb in the eye of White, and White roars as he falls backwards, clutching his face!

Tommy Young breaks into a sprint at Cain, but Cain pulls down the top rope and Young flies over, crashing to the outside!

Carson: Tommy Young has been eliminated!

Cain gets back into the ring. He stands in the corner and waits for White to get to his feet.

Phoenix: It looks like Cain is preparing to unleash Dragon Rage!
Ito: He’s on the cusp of victory here!

White gets up and turns into Cain’s path. Cain launches himself forward - but NO! White sidesteps and avoids the knee! Cain gets back to his feet - SPINEBUSTER from White! White grabs Cain and roughly pulls him up, putting him in a powerbomb position!

Phoenix: White is signalling for the end!

But not this time! Cain breaks free of the hold - AND BLASTS WHITE IN THE NUTS! LOW BLOW!! White falls backwards towards the ropes and Cain blasts him with a superkick that sends White stumbling over the top! White holds on to the top rope and finds his feet on the apron, but ANOTHER superkick knocks him down to the floor!

Carson: Brain White has been eliminated! Here is your winner, RHYS … CAAAAIN!!

Win-Loss Records:
Rhys Cain 1-0

Phoenix: And look at that! That dastardly Rhys Cain has done it again! He’s earned a 4CW Undisputed World Championship match against Jack Valentine on Storm Front!
Ito: And the fact remains that Rhys Cain is a Hall of Famer. Any opportunity he gets could be the one he becomes a three-time World Champion! Dislike him… or hate him… you can see that Cain is not only in the best shape of his life, but he hasn’t been this hungry for the World Title for years! This is Rhys Cain in - his - prime, mentally and physically!
Phoenix: Well said! And it will be a main event you will NOT want to miss! Join us on Storm Front, January 31! Goodnight!

The show ends with Rhys Cain standing tall in the middle of the ring, a great, dirty smirk on his face.
