Sery/McGroin/Cain Open: First time seeing Sery since he got control back and it's almost like he never left! I very much appreciate the way he's not just piledriving everything that happened under Cain. I also found it pretty funny the way McGroin managed to back himself into a corner there! Even Cain coming out wasn't that big of a deal for me! And whilst I'm t it, I don't even feel all that salty about Cain inserting himself into the match the way he did. It's certainly gonna be interesting how this match plays out too!
Murder of Crows vs S&M: I like that Murder of Crows is getting an outing a bit, and even showing some of that veteran quality that's been talked about. A good hard hitting match that could really have gone either way to be fair, but S&M get the win. Could we be seeing a resurgence of this classic team as champions?
Jett vs Zaiden, Submission: Could really have gone either way with this match, and honestly, I was kinda expecting Zaiden to win it, as in these kind of series', wins are shared every other, or so it seems. Nice way to break our expectations. Decent match, good building for both these guys, though I get the feeling a sence of over confidence will start drifting on of Jett as Zaiden get's hungrier and hungrier for that win.
Murder of Crows call Dark Lotus out: What happens when you lose a match? You try again! I liked this. The Crows know what they want and they're gonna get it, no matter what!
Silent Sorcery vs Synth City Thillers: Silent Sorcery have been out of things for a little bit, so it's good to see that they still got it. Enjoyable match, good spots and solid win for the ex champs.
Black Flame/Kinzy & Synth City backstage: Any time The Black Flame can be made to look foolish is a good time! ANd well done to Kinzy for stepping up to the plate!
Lotus (c) vs Jason Crow, Hardcore Title: Short n sweet, probably concussions and a new Hardcore champ. What's not to love! :-P
Kinzy vs Zephyris: I refer to my last comment regarding the Black Flame and Kinzy!
Moxie/Waters/Cain backstage: I swear, If Moxie stays with the Black Flame for much longer, I will genuinely be surprised! And Waters is just asking for the taste to be slapped from his mouth!
Valentine/McGroin vs Run 'N' Gun: I was quite enjoying this match, and it was certainly surprising that the team of Valentine and McGroin were managing to be a half decent tag team! I liked the fact that Tommy seemed to surprise Valentine a couple of times.
Post-Match: And just when it was getting good, Cain is up to his old tricks again! Ah well... But it does look like he's pissed every other competitor in this match off pretty badly, so I'm sure he's going to particularly enjoy War... ;-P
4CW Hall of Fame Class of 2018. Triple Crown Champion 2020. 2 times Universal, 2 times Tag team and 1 Time World Heavyweight Champion.
Wrestler of the Year 2017, Champion of the Year 2017, Most Improved 2017
Cold open to the show as "Red Flag" by Billy Talent hits the PA system. The fans ERUPT as the NEW owner of 4CW steps out on to the stage with a suit on and a big smile across his face. He is sporting a black eye and a split lip, but he has never looked happier. The opening of the show pyro goes off around Sery for added pizzazz.
Carson: PLEASE WELCOME.... the NEW OWNER of 4 CORNERS WRESTLING... 4CW HALL OF FAMER... SERY!!
Phoenix: Welcome ladies and gentlemen to 4CW Storm Front. I'm Scott Phoenix, I'm joined by Ray Jeffrey and James Roberts... and what a way to kick off the show with the new, official owner of 4CW ... SERY!
Jeffrey: I never thought I'd be so happy to see this idiot's poxy face.
Sery comes down to the ring and "worships" the fans on his way down, before rolling into the ring. He has a mic in hand and the crowd allow him the platform to address them.
Sery: GOD IT'S GOOD TO BE BACK!!
Huge pop from the crowd.
Sery: Finally, after years of hard work, I am the NEW owner of 4CW! Now, I can truly make this place the best hotbed of Pro Wrestling in the world! And I'm here to take you all along with me! Storm Front: WAR is coming up at the end of December and what better way to lead to it than to tell you all exactly what's happening there! See, with Cain in charge, he left a lot of loose ends that need tying up - and I am the master of tying knots. So this is what we're going to do...
The crowd wait with baited breath.
Sery: First of all, let's address the 4CW Tag Team Championships! At Gallows End, Umbra Maxima defeated Run 'N' Gun in a cage match to become four-time 4CW Tag Team Champions! Well, they will defend the titles at WAR in a triple threat Ladder match! And I only want the best teams in that match! So tonight, we will have two qualifying matches between four of the hottest tag teams in 4CW. The winners of both those matches will go on to face Umbra Maxima for the tag titles! First, Murder of Crows will face S&M and later tonight, Synth City Thrillers will take on Silent Sorcery!
The crowd like this announcement and show their approval with another big pop.
Sery: But we're just getting started! Pilgrim Paige became a two-time 4CW Universal Champion at Gallows End, defeating both Erica Moxie and the champion Eli Waters! Well, I think the best way to go ahead with that championship is to have a fair and square one on one championship match at WAR! And so, Pilgrim Paige will defend the championship against a competitor who has been hungry for opportunity, but denied the opportunity. She was the runner up in the 2020 13 Ghost Gauntlet match. At Storm Front: WAR, it'll be Pilgrim Paige defending the 4CW Universal Championship against Madeline Phoenix!
Phoenix: Hell yeah! Now that's a match!
Jeffrey: Your bias aside, I have to agree that is a salivating prospect!
Phoenix: Salivating? Really?
Jeffrey: I'm sorry, Scott... but I am who I am.
Sery: Xavier Avana is the new 4CW Custom Cup Champion after his victory over Phil McGroin at Gallows End. I am still waiting on word from Avana as to what his stipulation will be, but he has let me know that at Storm Front: WAR, he will defend the Custom Cup Championship in an Open Challenge!
Roberts: What an announcement! Xavier Avana showing he is, first and foremost, a fighting champion!
Sery: And that leads us, to the 4CW World Championship! At Gallows End, in a brutal and savage Gallows Pole match, Jack Valentine was able to overcome the odds and defeat his arch nemesis Carstein! It was the end to a feud that has taken up much of the year and as such, we have a string of contenders lined up and waiting. First of all, Brian White is still waiting for his title match after winning the Rumble in the Storm in August. And at Gallows End, his tag team partner Tommy Young made history by winning the 13 Ghost Gauntlet, also securing himself a title match. So, it stands to reason, that at Storm Front: WAR, Jack Valentine will defend his 4CW World Championship against --
"Numb" by Linkin Park hits the PA system. Camera Man is notably absent as Phil McGroin steps out on stage. He doesn't look very happy. He has the Lightning in the Bottle clutched in his hand, but the 4CW Custom Cup Championship is no longer around his waist.
McGroin: Hold on just a minute, Sery!
Sery: Phil! Nice to see you! What can I do for you, buddy?
McGroin growls.
McGroin: Don't "buddy" me! This is bullshit! You need to forget all about Brian White and Tommy Young! Through no fault of my own, I was SCREWED out of my 4CW Custom Cup Championship at Gallows End and I am the Lightning in the Bottle holder! I demand respect! And retribution!
Sery: Those are some big words, Phil... but you know what? I actually AGREE with you 100%!
McGroin double takes.
McGroin: You do? ... I mean, GOOD! As you should!
Sery: Yes, I completely agree that after losing your title, you deserve another OPPORTUNITY! And so, I ACCEPT your Lightning in the Bottle cash in for the 4CW World Championship!
McGroin suddenly looks worried.
McGroin: What?! I never said - what?
Sery holds up his hands defensively.
Sery: Oh, sorry, sorry! I misunderstood! I thought you were announcing your cash in! Silly me... I can totally understand why you'd be too intimidated to join the fray with the likes of Valentine, White and Young, of course! Honestly, I'd be scared too!
McGroin frowns. Even he doesn't miss that insult.
McGroin: I'm not scared! In fact ... I'm so fearless I'm going to announce my match ahead of time! I'm cashing in at ... Storm Front: WAR!!
Sery looks around at the crowd, with faux-shock at this announcement, but it looks like he got exactly what he wanted.
Sery: Wonderful! So glad we're on the same page! So then, at Storm Front: WAR... it will be Jack Valentine defending against Brian White... and Tommy Young... AND Phil McGroin... and just to shake things up a bit, that match will be contested... AS A WAR MATCH!!
Phoenix: WHAT?!
Jeffrey: Did I just hear that right?
Roberts: A fatal-4-way WAR match for the 4CW World Championship! Hell yeah!
McGroin looks somewhat satisfied, though perhaps a deeper part of him realises he's just been manipulated. However, he doesn't express anything further, nodding with aplomb, dropping the mic and leaving. Sery is about to continue speaking when "As I Am" by Dream Theatre hits the PA system. Sery raises his brow, surprised at the appearance of Rhys Cain, as he steps through the curtain.
Cain comes out on stage with a mic in hand.
Phoenix: Looks like Cain is still sticking his nose in where it doesn't belong!
Jeffrey: He can do that all he wants, but now Sery has the power, whether he likes it or not!
Sery: Rhys, my boy. Honestly, I'm surprised to see you out here.
Cain moves the mic to his mouth.
Cain: And why, Sery, would you be surprised at a 4CW Hall of Famer coming off a victory at Hardcore Hellfire against another Hall of Famer, coming out in the middle of a discussion about future 4CW World Championship opportunities.
Sery chuckles.
Sery: Well frankly, because you know as well as I do that there's no way in hell I'm giving you an opportunity at the 4CW World Championship just because you demand one. You lost that power at Gallows End when I beat you.
Cain flinches at the jab but continues.
Cain: That's right, Sery. You won. As such, you are the owner of 4CW. That means you are in charge of all talent and their contracts.
Sery: Yes, I am aware.
Cain: Good, then you should also be aware that my contract expires at the end of the year. And we both know that, despite your hatred for me, not even you are stupid enough to let a star of my calibre go and potentially help your competition... so this is what I propose... I will make me signing a multi-year contract the easiest, smoothest transition you will ever see... and I only want one thing... add me to the WAR match. Because the only way I'm securing my future here in 4CW is if I get that.
Sery doesn't reply immediately. He considers Cain, his cogs clearing turning inside his head. Eventually, he sighs.
Sery: I'll give you credit, Cain: you're a smart guy. Always have been. And you're right, there's no way in hell I'm letting you go elsewhere. You're too valuable, regardless of how much of an asshole you are. Fine. You want in? You got it. But don't forget, Cain... this is WAR. No-one gets in. No-one gets out. You want that World Title around your waist again? You're gonna have to do it all by yourself.
Sery's music hits to signal the end of the segment and Cain nods absent-minded as he stares down Sery in the ring.
Phoenix: Well, Cain has once again managed to worm his way into a prominent position!
Jeffrey: Yeah, but even you can't deny Scott, that the prospect of that five-way WAR match for the title is incredible!
Roberts: Valentine will defend against White, Young, McGroin and Cain inside the WAR match! Three Hall of Famers, and all five have illustrious histories here in 4CW! What a starstruck main event we have for the last show of 2020!
Phoenix: Well, that is indeed why we are the best promotion in Pro Wrestling! Sery with a string of announcements to set us up for Storm Front: WAR and when we come back, we have the first of two qualifying tag team matches! Don't go anywhere!
"Head Like A Hole" by Miley Cyrus hits the PA system. Senecca and Dirk Meyer appear on stage to a decent pop from the crowd. But the pop is magnified tenfold when MARQUIS THE MOOSE follows behind them! Marquis looks in the best shape of his life and he's wearing a Santa hat.
Jeffrey: Bit early for Christmas yet, isn't it?
Phoenix: Don't be such a scrooge, Ray. It's the Christmas season.
Carson: The following contest is a tag team match scheduled for one fall and it is a qualifying match for the triple threat ladder match for the 4CW Tag Team Championships at Storm Front: WAR IV!! Introducing first, from Valhalla, New York, weighing in at a combined weight of 560lbs ... 4CW Hall of Famers... SENECCA AND DIRK MEYER ... S&M!!
Marquis the Moose comes down to the ring, though now he has a handler that follows behind to keep control of him during matches. With the open island setting and very few fans in attendance, Marquis is able to take a controlled stroll around the arena. Senecca and Meyer get into the ring and pander to the crowd.
Phoenix: S&M are of course three-time Tag Team Champions here in 4CW and they will be looking to take the first step tonight at title reign #4!
"Cowboys From Hell" by Pantera hits the PA system. The crowd boo as The Crows step out on to the stage.
Phoenix: At the start of the month, S&M actually defeated Murder of Crows! Now they just have to repeat that feat to get their title shot!
Jeffrey: But Murder of Crows losing last time will just make them more eager to win this time! And they are both not only hardened fighters, they are a very experienced tag team. Being brothers, I'd say they have damn near perfect chemistry.
Roberts: And things are always different when there's something on the line! S&M will be in for a fight!
Jason and Robert Crow head down to the ring with purpose, not wasting any time pandering or insulting the crowd. Tonight, there are more important stakes.
The match begins with Dirk Meyer and Robert Crow starting for their respective teams, with their partners Senecca and Jason Crow standing on the apron. Meyer and Robert lock up in a standard grapple. After a short struggle, Robert surprises Meyer by outmanoeuvring him and locking him in a side headlock. Meyer quickly pushes Robert away and sends him to the ropes, but Robert takes down Meyer with a chunky clothesline on his return. Robert then throws Meyer to the ropes himself and on his return, lifts him up and over for a back body drop! Robert follows up with some stomps that cause Meyer to retreat into a nearby corner. Robert continues to stomp until Meyer fights back with a rogue kick which takes out Robert's right knee. Meyer rolls out of the corner and gets back to his feet while Roberts tries to recover. Meyer grabs his foot and hits a DDT to the foot!
Phoenix: Meyer knew that shot had hurt Robert's leg and now he plans to take full advantage!
Jeffrey: Veteran marksmanship from Meyer!
Meyer DDTs the foot a second time, then locks in a one-legged Boston crab. Robert writhes in pain for a few moments, before coming to a little and finding the ropes with a quick leap. The referee calls for the rope break and Meyer releases the hold, but immediately picks up Robert and takes him out with a standard suplex! Meyer then waits for Robert to get back up to his feet, only to take him out with a snapmare, and follow it up with a dropkick! Meyer makes the first cover! ONE ... TWO ... NO! Robert kicks out!
Roberts: Meyer is in a good position. He needs to keep on top of Robert Crow.
Meyer picks up Robert and throws him to the corner. He follows him and blasts Robert with a corner clothesline! Robert stumbles out of the cotner and Meyer wastes on time in whipping him to the other side. Meyer follows him once again for another corner clothesline, but Robert gets a boot up which smashes Meyer in the mouth. Robert runs forward and takes down the groggy Meyer with a bulldog! Robert with the cover! ONE ... TWO ... NO! Meyer kicks out!
Phoenix: Robert has found an opening and turned the tide!
Robert picks up Meyer and whips him into the Crows corner. He then tags in Jason and gives Meyer a knife edge chop before leaving the ring. Jason follows up with a couple of brutal forearms which cause Meyer to slouch down the turnbuckle. Jason stomps Meyer a few times, then tags Robert back in. Robert picks up Meyer and delivers a suplex of his own! He goes to the ropes and comes down on Meyer with a leg drop for another cover! ONE ... TWO ... NO! Meyer kicks out. Robert grabs Meyer and throws him back into the Crows corner. Robert lifts Meyer up on to the top turnbuckle, then sets him up for a corner-assisted powerbomb! He comes down hard and smashes Meyer into the mat, sitting out the powerbomb with a cover!
Phoenix: What a move! Will it be enough to put away Meyer?!
The referee slides in and counts... ONE ... TWO ... NO!! Meyer doesn't kick out, but he gets his FOOT ON THE ROPE! Robert throws Meyer's foot off the rope with frustration and covers him again! ONE ... TWO ... NO!! Meyer kicks out this time!
Phoenix: Robert Crow was so close to victory with frankly a huge move out of nowhere!
Roberts: But like I said, everything changes when there's stakes on the line! Meyer found some hidden strength to break the pinfall!
On the apron, Senecca is leaning over as far as he can, itching to get into the ring as his partner continues to take a beating. Robert picks up Meyer and takes him out with a DDT, then sends Meyer to the Crows corner again. Robert makes a run towards Meyer, but stumbles and limps!
Phoenix: That's his injured leg coming to bite him on the ass!
Meyer in the corner throws an elbow back that hits Jason Crow in the face and knocks him to the floor! Meyer then stumbles forward and stomps the foot of Robert, before putting him in a Full Nelson and hitting a neckbreaker! Meyer makes the cover! ONE ... TWO ... TH--- NO! Robert kicks out! At this point, the crowd applaud the efforts of both men, and as Jason recovers and gets back on the apron, it's very clear that both Senecca and Jason want nothing more than to get into this match. Robert and Meyer begin to stir and move away towards their respective corners.
Phoenix: Both men trying for a tag but which one of them will get there first?
Roberts: Both these team want this - no, need this - so badly!
Meyer inches closer to his partner first and TAGS in Senecca. A second later, Jason tags Robert and gets into the ring. Senecca has the momentary advantage though and clobbers Jason with a big clothesline! Senecca sends Jason to the ropes and takes him out on his return with a back body drop! Senecca then follows up with a body slam!
Phoenix: And Senecca is showing a hell of a lot of dominance right now!
Jason struggles back to his feet again and Senecca grabs him and whips him into a vacant corner. He approaches Jason and throws his shoulder into the gut of Crow several times. When Jason stumbles out of the corner, Senecca grabs him from behind and hits a German suplex! Senecca with the cover! ONE ... TWO ... NO!!
Phoenix: A near-fall, but Senecca is on fire!
Jeffrey: He needs to put away Jason before he has a chance to come back!
Senecca grabs Jason and lifts him up on to his shoulder!
Phoenix: Will we see The Dark Plunge?
No! Jason breaks free of Senecca's grasp, finds his feet on the mat and takes out the big man with a snap DDT! Jason moves away from Senecca, and uses the ropes to get back to his feet. When he sees Senecca stir, he pounces. He stomps Senecca repeatedly, inching him closer to the Crow corner as he does so. He only stops when the referee starts a count, and even then, only when the referee gets to four. With Senecca having taken at least thirty stomps, he is laid out in the corner unsurprisingly. Jason picks up Senecca with a little effort, takes him out with a spinning neckbreaker! Jason makes the cover!
Roberts: Brutal impact! Could this be it?!
The referee counts... ONE ... TWO ... NO! Senecca kicks out! Jason jumps to his feet, furious, and kicks Senecca in the ribs in frustration. Deciding upon his next move, Jason grabs Senecca and sets him up in position for a piledriver!
Phoenix: If Jason hits a piledriver, this one could be over for sure!
But before Jason can pull off the move, Senecca reverses and lifts him up and over for the second time in a few short minutes! Senecca's adrenaline gets him to his feet as he TAGS in Meyer! Meyer jumps over the top rope and sprints across the ring, hitting a shotgun dropkick to Robert Crow on the apron, sending him crashing to the floor below. He then turns to a recovering Jason, swiftly avoids a right hand from the Crow, lunges forward and takes out Jason with THE ECLIPSE!!
Phoenix: There it is! The Eclipse!
Jeffrey: S&M are heading for the big time!
Meyer covers Jason and the referee counts... ONE ... TWO ... THREE!!
Carson: Here are your winners, SENECCA and DIRK MEYER ... S&M!!
Win-Loss Records:
Senecca 3-6
Dirk Meyer 3-6
Jason Crow 0-3
Robert Crow 1-3
Phoenix: A hard earned victory from the former three-time 4CW Tag Team Champions.
Jeffrey: Murder of Crows gave them a battle but their experience won out!
Phoenix: And it should be noted that it's been fifteen years since S&M last tasted tag team gold... so winning this match more important to them than you can imagine! They WILL compete for the tag titles at WAR, in the triple threat ladder match!
Roberts: And later tonight, Silent Sorcery will take on the Synth City Thrillers to decide the final team in that triple threat with the 4CW Tag Team Champions Umbra Maxima!
Carson: The following contest is Match 2 in a Best of Seven Series... and is a SUBMISSION match scheduled for one fall!
Phoenix: A submission match? Alright!
Roberts: I guess since Jett pinned Zaiden already, now he wants to make him tap out!
"Creatures of Habit" by Polaris hits the PA system. The crowd give a respectable cheer as the 4CW rookie comes out on stage.
Carson: Introducing first, from Brisbane, Australia, weighing in at 240lbs... FULL GEAR ... LINDOOOOON ... JETT!!
Win-Loss Records:
Lindon Jett 3-1
Grant Zaiden 0-3
Lindon Jett heads down to the ring and rolls in. He takes off his sleeveless jacket and throws it to ringside, before climbing the turnbuckle and does his "gear turning" taunt, which is emulated by some of the fans in the crowd. Jett then jumps down and waits in the corner for his opponent.
"Into Nothing" by Bleed From Within hits the PA system. The raging chunk of muscle storms out on to the stage and heads down the ramp.
Carson: And his opponent, from Charlton, England, weighing in at 260lbs... THE RED RHINO... GRANT ... ZAAAAIDEN!!
Grant Zaiden reaches the bottom of the ramp. He doesn't take his eyes off Jett the entire time.
Phoenix: Here comes Zaiden, who lost the first match in the Best of Seven - and it looks like he's not waiting around, here he goes!
Zaiden climbs into the ring and immediately goes for Jett. The two of them clash with clubbing blows and the referee, Jason Trent, shrugs and calls for the bell!
Jeffrey: And this submission match is underway! Let's go!
The two men clobber each other with lefts, rights and the occasional forearm as they go back and forth for a solid minute, beating chunks out of each other. Eventually, exhaustion takes over, and the two begin to stagger. Zaiden delivers a particularly ferocious forearm which rocks Jett and sends him down to one knee. Zaiden follows up with a dropkick, which he targets Jett's left shoulder with!
Phoenix: Smart play from The Red Rhino! Looks like he's found a target for this submission match!
Jeffrey: And Jett will be annoyed he didn't get to do it first!
Zaiden grabs Jett and whips him into the corner. He chases after Jett and immediately smashes into him with a clothesline. Zaiden then goes through the ropes and on to the apron. He grabs Jett's arm over the top rope, then jumps down to the floor! The resulting snap on Jett's arm causes him a great deal of pain as he stumbles away from the corner, before falling on the floor, clutching his arm and writhing in agony. Zaiden rolls back into the ring and comes down on Jett with a big leg drop!
Phoenix: Well, Zaiden has certainly started this match in a much better position than he ended the last one.
JRoberts: And with only one fall in it so far, there's still everything to fight for!
Zaiden sends Jett to the ropes and takes him out with a clothesline. He continues pushing with another clothesline immediately after and finally grabs Jett and takes him out with a belly-to-belly suplex. Zaiden then puts his knee into the back of Jett and pulls back on both arms in a bow and arrow lock. He particularly puts pressure on the left arm and shoulder. Jett struggles for a moment, before fighting through the pain to pull his way of the lock. Both Jett and Zaiden get swiftly back to their feet and Jett outspeeds Zaiden, taking him down with a clothesline of his own. Jett then follows up with a Pop-Up European Uppercut, which knocks Zaiden for six!
Phoenix: Engine Thrust!
Jeffrey: That's enough to take anyone's chin off!
Jett picks up Zaiden and takes him out with a spinning neckbreaker! Jett then goes to the corner and starts to climb the turnbuckle!
Phoenix: Are we going to see the Crash Landing?!
Jett reaches the top and dives off to execute an ELBOW DROP!!
Roberts: We do! Big risk and big reward!
Jett turns Zaiden over, hooks his arms and bridges over to lock in the Cattle Mutilation!
Phoenix: BLACK BOX! Jett has locked in Black Box!
Jeffrey: Zaiden needs to get out of this FAST!
Zaiden writhes as Jett applies the pressure. Zaiden frantically kicks himself backwards and eventually manages to touch the bottom rope with his foot, forcing Jett to break the hold. Jett rolls away as Zaiden lays there stunned. A few moments later, Jett uses the ropes to pull himself up. He goes straight back to Zaiden, picks him up and executes a suplex!
Phoenix: I guess Jett has the mentality of going back to square one and putting Zaiden through the ringer again.
Jeffrey: If he can pull it off, it's not a bad tactic!
Jett picks up Zaiden and whips him to the ropes. On his return, Jett tries a clothesline, but Zaiden ducks out of the way. Zaiden stops and spins around, clubbing Jett on the back of the head. He then turns him around, positions him in the bomb position, and smashes Jett into the matt with a powerbomb!
Roberts: Pure power from The Red Rhino!
Zaiden, now with his adrenaline pumping again, grabs Jett and throws him across the ring with a release belly-to-belly suplex!! He then follows Jett across the ring, picks him back up and locks in a Full Nelson!
Phoenix: Zaiden has Jett locked in tight!
Roberts: The Full Nelson is a notoriously difficult submission to escape from!
Jeffrey: It could be all over right here!
Zaiden swings Jett around like a ragdoll, trying to wear him down into submission. Eventually he stops and focuses the pressure. Jett seems to be fading fast, when he suddenly wakes up and runs forward, still locked into the submission, comes back off the ropes and uses the momentum to jump backwards. He and Zaiden fall backwards and the impact is enough for Zaiden's grip to slacken and Jett breaks out of the hold! Jett rolls away to the ropes while Zaiden gets back to his knees.
Phoenix: Ingenious! Jett found a unique way to escape!
Jeffrey: But now he's in a very precarious position!
Zaiden gets back to his feet and stumbles over to Jett, who is up on his feet on the apron. Zaiden swings forward with a huge forearm that Jett somehow manages to withstand enough to still hold on to the ropes. Jett retaliates with a HUGE headbutt which knocks Zaiden down to the mat! Jett uses the top rope to swing himself over into the ring and deliver another elbow drop! Jett grabs Zaiden and drags him into the middle of the ring, then hooks his arms and locks in the BLACK BOX a second time!
Phoenix: It's locked in again! And Zaiden has nowhere to go!
Jeffrey: I think he's still reeling from that headbutt!
Roberts: Look at this! Zaiden is completely trapped! He has no way of escaping!
Jeffrey: He's losing the fight!
The referee audibly asks if Zaiden wants to quit and Zaiden's muffled scream of "NO!!" is heard quite clearly.
Phoenix: Zaiden refusing to quit! True grit!
Roberts: He may not quit but his body can't hold up to this forever!
Inside the ring, Jett has only cinched his submission in tighter, and Zaiden after one last jerk, stops moving. The referee immediately calls for the bell!!
Carson: Here is your winner via submission... LINDOOOOON ... JETT!!
Phoenix: Wow!
Roberts: Zaiden has passed out! That makes Jett 2-0 in this series!
Jeffrey: It keeps going from bad to worse!
Phoenix: At the very least, Zaiden has proven he is a fighter! And comebacks are not unheard of!
Roberts: Zaiden came in with an arrogant attitude towards Jett and he has so far rued that attitude!
Inside the ring, Jett gets to his feet and raises his arms in victory. As his music plays, he calls for a mic from ringside.
Jett: I'll say this much... Grant Zaiden, you put up a hell of a fight.. that's why in Match 3 of 7... at Storm Front: WAR IV... we're going to have... a multi-fall match within a multi-fall series of matches... we'll call it Fallception... but it's more commonly known... as a two out of three falls match! I'll see you there.
Jett drops the mic and leaves the ring, leaving Zaiden to reel in his loss as he starts to come to.
We cut to the parking lot, where none other than Murder of Crows are standing by with a camera man.
Jason: We know you all saw what happened earlier tonight, well... we're not done!
Robert: We may not get a shot at the Tag Titles, but we aren't leaving here tonight without gold!
Jason: DARK LOTUS... we're calling you out. In the parking lot. Tonight! Show up if you've got the guts, and if you haven't got the guts, you may as well never show your face here again!
The cameras cut back to the open-air arena.
Phoenix: Well, Murder of Crows have set out the challenge... but will it be answered?
The bell rings and Carson is shown in the middle of the ring to introduce it.
Carson: The following tag team contest is scheduled for one fall and is a qualifier for the Triple Threat Ladder match for the 4CW Tag Titles at Storm Front: WAR IV!
"Forever Lotus" hits the PA system. The crowd give one of their most generous pops of the night as the oriental beat plays and the former two-time 4CW Tag Team Champions, Tsukiko and Oki-Kira, step out on stage.
Carson: Introducing first, from Osaka, Japan, weighing in at a combined weight of 332lbs... KIKO ... KIRA ... SILEEEEEEENT ... SOOOORCERY!!
Communicating on the ramp with body language and hand movements, they eventually nod in agreement and head down to the ring.
Phoenix: Former two-time champions in their own right, Silent Sorcery have been hungry to get another shot at the titles after losing them at Revival. If they win this match, they get the ultimate opportunity.
Kiko and Kira get into the ring. Once they take a corner, having already decided who is starting the match, Kira immediately goes to the apron as Kiko awaits the opponents.
"Destroyer" by Meteor hits the PA system. The unfamiliar music intrigues the small crowd. The ominous, building synths engulf the arena as a technical glitch colour show erupts on the screen. A white light grows bigger and bigger in the centre of the screen, until it reveals the silouhettes of two dancing men. The rock-track beat jumps into the song and out come Devon Drummond and Reuben Kojo. Their attire now mixing orange with black, with flaming synth bars printed on their kneepads.
Carson: And their opponents, from London, England, weighing in at a combined weight of 454lbs... DEVON DRUMMOND ... REUBEN KOJO ... SYNTH CITTYYYYYYYYYYY... THRILLERS!!
As the guitar solo part of the track plays, Kojo air guitars along. Eventually, they reach the bottom of the ramp and stop dancing, to focus on their opponents inside the ring.
Phoenix: A new look and sound for Synth City Thrillers! We know Synth City love to have a good time! Love to dance and feel the groove! But you can never mistake that for weakness on their part. When it comes to the action in-ring, they are highly competitive and dangerous.
Jeffrey: That's for sure! Silent Sorcery, with their gloried history, are no doubt the favourites... but this will by no means be an easy match for Silent Sorcery. If they aren't at their best, they could slip up, and Synth City will be right there to take advantage.
Synth City Thrillers get into the ring. Devon Drummond informs Kojo that he wants to start the match, to which Kojo has no issue. Kojo goes to the apron.
Phoenix: It looks like it's going to be The Sea Witch versus the Keeper of the Keys to kick things off!
The referee, Jason Trent, satisfied with his pre-match checks, calls for the bell to start the match!
Kiko and Drummond approach each other slowly, circling each other as they steadily inch closer to the middle of the ring. Eventually, they lock up. Kiko slips under Drummond and hits a fireman's carry takedown. Drummond is momentarily taken by surprise, but gets back up and engages in a test of strength with Kiko. He takes one of Kiko's wrists and spins her into a takedown. Drummond moves in on Kiko, but once again she reverses hitting another fireman's carry takedown and then she grabs Drummond's wrist and twists it into a wrist lock.
Kiko transitions into a headlock, but Drummond sends her to the ropes. On her return, Drummond falls to the floor. Kiko jumps over and heads to the ropes for another go. Drummond gets to his feet but is taken by surprise as Kiko comes back quicker than he had expected and hits a dropkick, knocking him down. Drummond retreats to his corner and gets back up using the ropes, not taking his eyes off Kiko the whole time.
Phoenix: Well, in the early going, Kiko has certaintly given Drummond a bit of a shock by how ready for him she is!
Roberts: It's easy to forget how long Kiko has been here now, facing opponents of all shapes and sizes... she's gained quite a wealth of experience of how to tailor her style to any particular opponent.
Drummond and Kiko lock up in the middle of the ring again. Drummond takes down his opponent with a headlock and brings her to the ground. After applying pressure for a few moments, Drummond loses control when Kiko reverses with a headscissors transition. Drummond turns his body while in the headscissors, positioning himself in front of Kiko. He curls up his body, then turns and pulls Kiko around with him, pulling apart the headscissors and escaping from the hold. Standing up, Drummond grabs Kiko's legs and pulls them up before slamming her back down to the mat!
Drummond then grabs one of Kiko's legs and locks in a single leg Boston crab. He isn't able to hold it very long though, as Kiko reverses back and kicks him in the face. Still holding on to Kiko's leg, Drummond falls on his ass. Kiko grabs Drummond's leg and lets out another kick with her free leg. Drummond shakes off the cobwebs and retaliates with his own kick with his free leg to Kiko's face. They both take turns kicking each other in the face, and get the strikes in at an accelerating pace, until they both manage to roll over to the ropes and get tangled up. They break the hold and release themselves from the ropes. The stale mate allows Kiko to roll over and tag in Kira.
Phoenix: Phenomenal back and forth, hard hitting and technical affair between those two! That was a joy to watch!
Jeffrey: Of course! That's why 4CW is the place to be for Pro Wrestling!
Drummond charges at Kira with a spinning back elbow attempt. Kira swiftly avoids the strike and sweeps the legs of Drummond in one quick motion. When Drummond jumps right back to his feet, he simply falls victim again as he eats a hurricanrana and a quick cover! ONE ... NO! Drummond kicks out! Drummond gets to his feet and is whipped to the ropes by Kira. On his return, Kira takes down Drummond with a Japanese arm drag. Drummond once again rushes to his feet but only eats a second Japanese arm drag. When Drummond gets back up again, Kira is already coming back from the ropes, where he takes him down with a Famouser! Kira covers... ONE ... TWO ... NO! Drummond kicks out!
Phoenix: Kira has come in hot and in control! The tides have turned a little here!
Jeffrey: It always surprises me just how quick Kira can be!
Kira grabs Drummond and whips him into an empty corner. He runs after Drummond, hitting a corner dropkick! When Drummond comes out of the corner, Kira follows up with an Enziguri, which slaps the air like a whip and echoes around the arena on impact. Kira covers Drummond a third time! ONE ... TWO ... NO!! Drummond kicks out!
Phoenix: I thought for a moment Kira might have had it but no! Drummond fights on!
Kira doesn't let up, though. He sets up for a kick as he waits for Drummond to get up. When Drummond gets to his knees, Kira swings for a roundhouse kick, but Drummond falls backwards to avoid the swinging strike! Drummond takes down Kira with a drop toe hold, then runs to the ropes and springboards off with a MOONSAULT!
Phoenix: Rage Against The Dying Light!
Jeffrey: That moonsault never gets old! Incredible!
Drummond covers Kira! ONE ... TWO ... NO! Kira kicks out! Drummond rolls away, taking a moment to recover, and TAGS IN Kojo!
Phoenix: Drummond makes the tag! Here comes King Kojo!
Kojo gets into the ring and Kira stands tall to meet him, despite the moonsault moments before. Kira proactively throws some shoot kicks to the bigger man, but Kojo retailates with a clobbering set of forearms and soon, Kira is down to his knees. Reuben Kojo runs to the ropes and when he comes back, jumps into a cannonball in the middle of the ring which completely wipes out Kira! Kojo covers ... ONE ... TWO ... NO! Kira kicks out! Kojo picks up Kira and sends him to the ropes, taking him down with a chunky spinebuster on his return!
Phoenix: Kojo hits the Synthbuster!
Kojo covers Kira once again! ONE ... TWO ... NO! Kira kicks out! As Kojo picks up Kira again, he fights back with some shoot kicks to the leg of Kojo and even following up with a SUPERKICK!!
Jeffrey: And there's the KADO KICK!
Roberts: Brutal kick! But Kojo is still standing!
Kojo stumbles groggily for a moment or two, but then jerks himself forward and retaliates with a big forearm, sending Kira back into the ropes, where he slouches on them. Kojo runs towards him and lifts a big boot, but Kira ducks and Kojo gets his leg caught up on the top rope! In the momentary distraction, Kira sweeps Kojo's leg and then tags in Kiko!
Phoenix: Kiko back in the mix and Kojo is down!
Kiko launches herself up into the air from a standing position and hits a 450 SPLASH! She makes a quick cover! ONE ... TWO ... TH--- NO!! Kojo kicks out!
Phoenix: The Sea Witch hits the Whirlpool and I thought it was all over!
Jeffrey: I think everyone did!
Kiko is also surprised that the Whirlpool didn't put away Kojo. She grabs Kojo and pulls him up, but what she has in mind we don't see as Kojo pulls out of her grip and then taking her out with a body slam, before falling onto the ropes. Kiko recovers by the ropes... unfortunately, in the corner of Drummond. Drummond grabs her on the ropes as Kojo runs forward to strike. At the last moment, Kiko pulls free of Drummond and sidesteps, and Kojo kicks Drummond off the apron!
In his vulnerable position, Kiko is able to roll up Kojo!! The referee counts ... ONE ... TWO ... THREE!!
Carson: Here are your winners ... SILEEEEEENT ... SOOOORCERY!!
Win-Loss Records:
Oki-Kira 2-4
Tsukiko Mizuno 2-4
Devon Drummond 1-4
Reuben Kojo 1-5
Phoenix: Kiko with the roll up and she takes the win out of nowhere!
Jeffrey: Synth City just got hijacked!
"Forever Lotus" hits the PA system again. Kira and Kiko celebrate their victory together and soon the referee comes over to raise their arms.
Phoeni: And with that win, the match is set! At Storm Front: WAR IV, 4CW Tag Team Champions Umbra Maxima will defend against S&M and Silent Sorcery in a triple threat ladder match!
Jeffrey: Oh, ho! I can't wait! Can we do it now?
Roberts: It'll take place next month, and I will indeed be counting down the days. But don't go anywhere, because in mere minutes, right after the break, we will find out if Dark Lotus is going to meet the challenge of the Murder of Crows!
We're back from the break, and Devon Drummond and Reuben Kojo are walking backstage. Kojo has an ice pack on his head and Drummond has a towel around his shoulders. They chatter back and forth but it can't be picked up by the camera. They stop in their tracks when they bump into The Liberation and Zephyris.
Rigg: Well, look who it is, Garret.
Fischer: Oh, it's those guys who decided The Black Flame wasn't good enough for them, right?
Rigg: Right.
Zephyris: Losing to Silent Sorcery... that's embarrassing.
Kojo laughs.
Kojo: Pretty sure I've seen them kick your ass enough times, Zeph.
Zephyris raises the 4CW Franchise Championship.
Zephyris: Laugh all you want, chumps. We're the Franchise Champions... what have you ever done?
Drummond: Oh, well done. You have a belt that isn't even an official 4CW title. Now that Daddy Cain gave you a pretend belt to play with, the big boys can go for the real belts.
Rigg: Don't listen to him, Zeph. It's normal for people to belittle that which they are jealous they do not own.
Zephyris: It's quite pathetic, really.
Drummond steps forward.
Drummond: You'd best watch your mouth, or you may find it ripped off.
Zephyris grins, getting the reaction he wanted.
Zephyris: You're supposed to be smart right? There's two of you and three of us. Idiot.
Drummond looks over the three Black Flame members.
Drummond: I still fancy our chances.
Zephyris laughs.
Zephyris: You think you can beat us? TOO BAD. The 4CW Franchise Championship rules dictate teams MUST be even... so that means even though the three of us beating you two in a handicap match would give us the utmost pleasure, we're legally not allowed to do so.
???: I have a solution.
All five men turn to find Kinzy Kane stepping into the scene.
Zephyris: Go home, Princess. The men are talking.
Kinzy raises her brow.
Kinzy: Don't you think your misogynistic comments lose their veracity when you get your ass kicked by women every other week? You were right though, Zephyris. Drummond is smart. You, however, not so much. So let me give you the math. Zephyris + Rigg + Fischer = 3. Drummond + Kojo + Kinzy = 3. Looks like we've got a match.
Zephyris: We would... if I felt you deserved a shot. What the hell have you done in 4CW? You've been here for five minutes and a fart.
Kinzy: Fair enough. Me and you, Zephyris. One on one, tonight. If I beat you, then we get a shot at your 4CW Franchise Championship at Storm Front: WAR. That is, if you are brave enough to get into the ring with a woman?
Zephyris scoffs.
Zephyris: That's how you're gonna play it? Alright, you're on! I'll kick your ass tonight, and then you and these losers can go cry on the beach somewhere.
Zephyris and The Liberation leave the hallway.
Kojo: Oh, THIS I can't wait to see.
We cut back to the parking lot after this. Murder of Crows are still waiting. They have blocked the exit to the parking lot, so no cars can leave without them knowing who is inside. This has caused quite a bit of backlog of people beeping, while trying to get out. Then suddenly, the lights go out.
Jason: Woo-hoo! Here we go!
The lights come back on (with cars now leaving since Murder of Crows have finally stopped blocking the exit) and Dark Lotus is very clearly standing in the middle of a big open space, cars surrounding him. Murder of Crows take one look at each other, nod, and head towards him.
Jason: Look at this, Robert. He actually showed up!
Robert: What do you know? Maybe he's run out of escape plans.
Jason: Well, there's no running this time!
Jason runs forward and throws a few right hands at Lotus. He basically no sells them and headbutts Jason to the ground. This distraction is just long enough for Robert to pull out a secret baseball bat from behind one of the parked vehicles and bash Lotus in the back with it.
Phoenix: Looks like we're getting a Hardcore Championship match right now!
Jason: Ref, get over here!!
A referee who was heading towards his own car runs over as Robert takes out Lotus with a DDT on to the concrete! ONE ... TWO ... NO?! Lotus kicks out!!
Roberts: I don't believe it! He kicked out! Is Dark Lotus even human?!
Jeffrey: That was a DDT directly into the concrete! Incredible feat to kick out from Lotus!
Jason picks up Lotus but Lotus pushes him away and then smashes him in the face with a big boot! Robert comes from behind and slams a steel chair across the back of Lotus, who completely no sells it. He turns on the spot, grabs Robert and throws him into the windshield of a nearby car! Lotus turns his attention back to Jason - who is already running towards him with a baseball bat, cracking him across the head with it!
Phoenix: Oh my god!
Lotus collapses to the ground. and Jason covers! ONE ... TWO ... THREE!! Lotus kicks out a NANOSECOND after three, but it's too late!
Carson: Here is your winner and the NEW 4CW Hardcore Champion... JASOOOON ... CROOOOW!!
Win-Loss Records:
Dark Lotus 9-4
Jason Crow 1-3
Jeffrey They did it! They actually did it!
Roberts: Yeah, 2-on-1, don't forget!
Jeffrey: Well, that's hardcore for you! Don't hate the player, hate the game!
Jason stumbles over to Robert and peels him away from the windshield. As he brings Robert to and shows him the belt, Lotus begins to stir and get up. Jason and Robert decide to hightail it to their car. Moments later, we hear the swerve of the car firing out of the parking lot as Dark Lotus sits up and looks on furiously.
Phoenix: Jason Crow is the new Hardcore Champion! And when we return, Kinzy Kane goes one on one with Zephyris! We'll be right back!
We come back from the break and inside the ring, Zephyris is standing. "Black Flame" by Bury Tomorrow is playing.
Carson: The folloing contest is a singles match scheduled for one fall! In the ring, from The Scorched Path, weighing in at 215lbs... ZEPHYRIS!!
"Those In My Way" by Straplocked hits the PA system. Kinzy Kane appears on stage to a big pop.
Carson: And his opponent, from Downtown New Toronto, Neontario, weighing in at 130lbs... NEON RAIN ... KINZYYYYYY ... KANE!!
Phoenix: And it should be noted that as per Sery's decision... everyone is banned from ringside! No Synth City to join Kinzy and no Liberation to join Zephyris! It's one on one, and if Kinzy wins, she and the Synth City Thrillers get a shot at Zephyris and The Liberation next month at WAR!
After Kinzy Kane gets into the ring with her usual fanfare, Zephyris is audibly shouting in the background, insulting her. Kinzy half-rolls her eyes as she turns to face Zephyris. She simply brings her hand up and tells Zeph to "bring it". The referee calls for the bell!
Kinzy and Zephyris lock up in a collar and elbow. After a short stalemate, Zephyris back Kinzy into the corner. The referee calls for a clean break and Zephyris obliges. They arrive back into the centre of the ring and lock up again. Zephyris sends Kinzy to the ropes. Kinzy comes back, ducks Zephyris' clothesline and continues to the ropes on the other side. She comes back but Zephyris drops down. Kinzy continues her run and comes back and Zephyris leap frogs her. On the fourth time around, Zephyris dodges a right hand, grabs Kinzy from his new position behind her and hits a reverse DDT! Quick cover! ONE ... TWO ... NO! Kinzy kicks out!
Phoenix: An exciting exchange and Zephyris strikes first blood so to speak.
Jeffrey: But he's seriously underestimating the amount of fight in Kinzy Kane!
Zephyris and KInzy both get back to their feet. Zephyris is more prepared and hooks up Kinzy, hitting her with a standard suplex. He picks her up for another assault, but Kinzy throws some right hands and gains some space. Kinzy takes down Zephyris with a hurricanrana. Before the Black Flame member can recover, she follows up with a dropkick, and then a quick cover! ONE ... TWO ... NO! Zephyris kicks out!
Roberts: A fast-paced affair and Kinzy is giving as good as she got!
Kinzy delivers three successive mid-kicks to the torso, which stuns Zephyris. Kinzy Irish whips Zephyris, but he reverses and sends her to the ropes. Kinzy comes back with an attempt at a running crossbody, but Zephyris catches her! Zephyris body slams Kinzy. She fights back to her feet, throwing some lefts and rights to fight off Zephyris, but Zephyris knees Kinzy in the gut and hits a snap DDT! Zephyris covers Kinzy! ONE ... TWO ... NO!! Kinzy kicks out!
Phoenix: I bet Zeph thought he had Kinzy there, but no! The rookie is still in this!
Zephyris sees blood in the water despite the kick out. He immediately picks up Kinzy and lifts her on his shoulders, setting her up in a Cradle Shock.
Phoenix: The Zephyris Shock is looming!
Zephyris isn't able to deliver on his promise though as Kinzy fights out of his grasp. She lands on her feet, turns in the air and hits Zephyris with a roundhouse kicks that knocks him for six.
Phoenix: SLAYED RUNNER!
Zephyris stumbles away and falls on his ass. Kinzy runs forward and hits a dropkick to the seated Zephyris!
Jeffrey: Neon Rain is pouring! Can she flood out The Black Flame?!
With Zephyris barely knowing where he is, he's a sitting target for Kinzy as she picks him up to his feet, hooks him up, spins and takes him out with the Unprettier!
Phoenix: And there's the TESLA COIL!
Roberts: Nice spin on that!
Kinzy covers Zephyris! ONE ... TWO ... THREE!!
Carson: Here is your winner... NEON RAIN ... KINZYYYYYY ... KANE!!
Win-Loss Records:
Kinzy Kane 3-1
Zephyris 2-3
"Those In My Way" by Straplocked hits the PA system again as Kinzy climbs to feet and raises her arms in the air, tired but proud of her fairly quick victory.
Phoenix: Well, she had to fight for it, but Kinzy just picked up a convincing win versus Zephyris!
Roberts: And you know what that means! Zephyris and The Liberation will face Kinzy Kane and Synth City Thrillers at Storm Front: WAR IV!
Jeffrey: For the 4CW Franchise Championship, unofficially.
Phoenix: Well, now that Cain is no longer running the show... I guess it's down to Sery whether those titles get any legitimacy. Nevertheless, a deal was struck and Kinzy won out! She and Synth City will get their opportunity next month!
Devon Drummond and Reuben Kojo arrive in the ring to congratulate Kinzy on her win and thank her for helping them get the opportunity. Once inside the ring and having exchanged words with Kinzy, they both raise an arm each and show her off to the audience. Synth City then roll out of the ring as Kinzy continues to celebrate and we go to break.
We're backstage in The Black Flame locker room. Erica Moxie is sitting in one side of the room and Eli Waters is sitting all the way on the other side of the ring. Waters subconsciously glances over at Moxie and she notices.
Moxie: What are you looking at?
Waters, as if he was a dam waiting to burst this whole time, stands up.
Waters: You think you're funny, what you did? You cost me the 4CW Universal Championship and you attacked me after our match at Hardcore Hellfire! You think I'm just gonna let that go?
Moxie grins and stands up.
Moxie: Well it's been four weeks, Eli, and you haven't done shit. So why don't you just tone down the big boy act? You made your impact, you got into The Black Flame and you pushed the boundaries. Now you know, after Hardcore Hellfire, what those boundaries are, you can abide by them.
Waters steps forward.
Waters: The only reason I haven't beat your ass seven shades of blue is because this is the first time I've seen you since Hardcore Hellfire... but I'd gladly do it tonight! Right now!
Moxie steps forward.
Moxie: You think I'm scared of you, kid? You think being the big, strong man gives you an edge over me? What you got was a receipt for you being a bitch the last few months. Suck it up, and deal with it, and maybe I'll actually have an iota of respect for you one day.
The two scowl at each other. Tensions rising, and both of them preparing to strike at any moment, their attention is distracted when Cain walks in through the door. By the look on his face, he's heard enough of what they were saying to understand the situation.
Cain: You know what I'm really sick and tired of? The in-fighting between my soldiers. We are The Black Flame. We burn together, we get stamped out together. You two... you two... everyone else is able to get along, but you two insist on pushing me... Zephyris just fell short again... we can't afford any more mistakes... so this is what's going to happen... at Storm Front: WAR IV, it's going to be Eli Waters vs Erica Moxie, one on one.
Both Waters and Moxie seem to like this idea.
Cain: And let me make something perfectly clear. You two will go out there and beat the shit out of each other and whatever mix of jealousy or sexual tension or whatever the fuck it is between you two that's messing up my day will be beaten out of you both. And after that match, whoever wins, the other person will deal with it and get the fuck over it. This is it: you two wanted to fight each other, you've got that fight... and on that night, I will be taking the 4CW World Championship back for the third time in my career. I expect your issues will be resolved by then, to celebrate with me in the ring...
Cain trails off his sentence in frustration and just walks off. Moxie and Waters glare at one another.
Phoenix: Well, that's one hell a match we have set up for Storm Front: WAR IV!
Roberts: Eli Waters vs Erica Moxie! Two faction mates with big differences - and they will have to fight out those differences, because if they don't, I'm not sure how Cain will react!
==
Carson: The following contest is our MAIN EVENT of the evening and is a tag team match scheduled for one fall!
"Thundersteel" by Riot hits the PA system. The crowd roar as the arrival of one of their favourite tag teams emerges from the curtain onto the stage.
Carson: Introducing first, from Barry, South Wales... accompanied by Miss Teri... weighing in at a combined weight of lbs... BRIAN "THE FREIGHT TRAIN" WHITE ... "TOP GUN" TOMMY YOUNG ... THIS IIIIIIIIIS.... RUN 'N' GUUUUUUN!!
Phoenix: Here we are looking at two of the most successful competitors in 4CW this year! Not only have they held the 4CW Tag Championships multiple times this year, they both have also had major singles success! Brian White won the Rumble in the Storm match and Tommy Young won the 13 Ghost Gauntlet! As such, they are both in contendership for the World Title and this match has been born out of that result!
Jeffrey: Regardless of HOW this match came about, the important thing is it's happening, and it's gonna be one hell of a bout!
Accompanied by Miss Teri, Run 'N' Gun give their usual fanfare as they make their way down to the ring. When the former tag champions are finally in the ring, the music cuts out. White and Young take a corner while Miss Teri gives them some unheard advice before leaving the ring.
"Numb" by Linkin Park hits the PA system. The crowd turn their cheers for Run 'N' Gun into equally loud boos for the Lightning in the Bottle holder.
Carson: And their opponents, first from Helston, England, weighing in at 14 stone... The Man Who Once Made A Cow Tap Out... PHIL ... MCGROOOOIN!!
McGroin heads down to the ring, apparently still mad at Camera Man, for he is nowhere to be seen. He stops halfway down the ramp and waits for his partner.
"Supernova Goes Pop" by Powerman 5000 hits the PA system. 4CW Undisputed World Champion Jack Valentine steps on to the stage, the championship strapped tightly around his waist as he points to it to show it off.
Carson: And his partner, from Atlantic City, New Jersey, weighing in at 220lbs... he is the 4CW UNDISPUTED WOOOORLD CHAMPION ... 4CW Hall of Famer... JACK ... ... VALENTIIIINE!!
Phoenix: Some people love him. Some people hate him.
Roberts: Does anyone really love him?
Jeffrey: Of course!
Phoenix: Whether you love or hate him, no-one can deny that he is blazing the trail of a legacy here. Jack Valentine has held the 4CW World Championship for 490 days. That makes him the longest-reigning 4CW World Champion of all time by some margin. Let's not forget he won a Rumble in the Storm match to win that championship and eliminated the former champion Pilgrim Paige to do so! He went on to defend that championship against Brian White in a Last Man Standing match, then against Carstein at Revival in a gruelling Hard Knocks Life match and again at Gallows End, where he defeated Carstein a second-time in a Gallows Pole match! We can argue the reason why he won but it comes to a point where that just becomes excuses. My point being, this man has every right to call himself the UNDISPUTED World Champion!
Jeffrey: Well said! You may not want to have dinner with the guy, but he's got it all done in the ring one way or another! And at Storm Front: WAR, he faces his biggest challenge yet! FOUR different challengers, and three of them are in this match tonight! One of them is his partner! He's a lone wolf tonight and can't trust anyone!
Roberts: Of course! Thanks to Covid restrictions, we can't have a bunch of people out here for every match, so Valentine's cronies will have to stay in the back, as well as Camera Man!
Jeffrey: I'm not sure Covid restrictions have anything to do with Camera Man's absence, if I'm honest!
Valentine and McGroin meet up on the ramp and after a quick couple of words back and forth, they walk down the ramp together to meet their opponents. Valentine and McGroin get into the ring and take the opposite corner to Run 'N' Gun. Young steps forward to signify he will be starting this match and, seeing this, Valentine convinces McGroin that he will start the match, to which McGroin agrees. Senior official Anna Molly decides she is happy with all proceedings and calls for the bell!
Young and McGroin start the match by locking up in the middle of the ring. Before Young can do anything however, McGroin hits him with a cheap knee to the ribs and takes him down with a headlock takedown! Young tries for the headscissors reversal, but McGroin avoids it and bashes Young in the face with a few closed fists, before continuing to apply the pressure of the headlock. Young changes tact, shifting his position and getting to his knees. Eventually, he gets to his feet, and elbows his way out of the headlock, sending McGroin to the ropes. On his return, Young jumps up and takes down McGroin with a hurricanrana! Quick cover! ONE ... TWO ... NO! McGroin kicks out!
McGroin recovers quickly and fights off Young with some right hands. He gets Young into the corner and unleashes four knife edge chops, before Young reverses and hits six of his own. After the sixth chop and a red chest to boot, McGroin stumbles away from the corner and falls victim to an Enziguri Quick cover! ONE ... TWO... KICKOUT from McGroin! Young picks up McGroin and whips him, but McGroin reverses, sending Young to the ropes. He drops down as Young comes back and leapfrogs the next time Young comes around. On the third return, McGroin finally takes down Young with a clothesline! He follows up with a snap suplex and makes the cover! ONE ... TWO... NO! Young kicks out!
Phoenix: Pinfall attempts all around but I think at this point they are more about wearing down the opponent rather than actually expecting a win!
Jeffrey: That's right! Every kick out is just another bit of energy exhausted!
McGroin next takes out Young with a swinging neckbreaker. He doesn't cover, but instead begins to climb the turnbuckle! McGroin takes one fleeting look at Young before diving off with a moonsault, but Young rolls out of the way!! McGroin eats mat, and Young runs to the ropes and comes back with a big dropkick! Cover! ONE ... TWO ... KICKOUT! McGroin breaks free of the fall! Young gets back up to his feet as McGroin gets to his knees. Young begins rattling off shoot kicks, first off slowly, but quickly speeding up on McGroin as he goes.
Phoenix: Gatling Gun! Young is picking up steam!
Young goes for one final kick to the head, which McGroin rolls backwards to avoid. McGroin rolls back to his feet and charges for Young, but Young is ready and takes him down with a slingblade! Young then climbs the vacant corner and reaches the very top! Valentine tries to run across and interfere, but Young kicks him in the face! Young then dives off and hits a 450 SPLASH!! YOUNG COVERS! ONE ... TWO ... NO!! Valentine charges in to break the fall! White comes in immediately after to the aide of his partner but Anna Molly steps in to get him out. While White accidentally distracts Molly, Valentine throws in an extra stomp before dragging Young towards the Valentine corner. Valentine then gets back to the apron, and McGroin grins as he tags him in! White gets back to the apron, realising its his best hope of moving forward with the match.
Phoenix: Valentine and McGroin doing what they do best, and that's bending the rules!
Jeffrey: And now Valentine is in and fresh, which is exactly what they wanted!
Valentine grabs Young and brings him into the middle of the ring, executing a picture perfect suplex. When Young tries to get back up, Valentine hits a mean dropkick and smothers Young with the cover! ONE ... TWO ... NO! Young kicks out! Valentine picks up Young and sends him to the ropes. Young ducks under Valentine's forearm smash and runs to the other ropes. He comes back looking to counter-attack but Valentine is quick to turn around and hit a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker! Young rolls out of the move and gets to his feet, hobbling as he grabs his back. Valentine continues the assault with a hurricanrana and hooks the leg! ONE ... TWO ... NO!! Young kicks out again!
Phoenix: Valentine is giving Young his greatest hits here but so far it's not enough!
Jeffrey: Looks like Valentine is looking to up the ante!
Valentine grabs Young and sets him up for the Flea Shot DDT! But Young rips himself out of Valentine's grasp - SUPERKICK!! Valentine goes down and Young covers! ONE ... TWO ... NO! Valentine kicks out!
Roberts: Young hits the superkick out of nowhere!
Phoenix: Now would be a good time for Young to get a tag in!
Young inches toward his corner, but Valentine is much closer to his own corner and manages to tag in McGroin first! McGroin runs into the ring and stops Young in his path with an elbow drop to the back, before pulling him back to the centre of the ring. McGroin picks up Young and executes a flawless Fisherman's Suplex! He keeps the bridge held for the count! ONE ... TWO ... NO! Young kicks out again! McGroin grabs Young by the hair and yanks him to his feet, but Young jumps up with an enziguri! He follows up with a DDT of his own, taking out McGroin! Young then stumbles backwards, half-falling into his corner as he TAGS in Brian White!
Phoenix: And here comes The Freight Train!
Roberts: Choo-choo!
Valentine runs into the ring and is taken out with a HUGE big boot from White! McGroin stumbles over and White takes him out with a German Suplex! White continues his assault with a fallaway slam! The crowd go wild as White positions himself in the corner of the ring.
Phoenix: We know what's coming! White is looking for the Runaway Train on McGroin!
McGroin stumbles to his feet and turns on the spot. Groggily, he moves right into the path of a speeding Brian White - but suddenly, BOOM!! RHYS CAIN appears out of nowhere and takes out Brian White with the DRAGON RAGE!! The crowd erupts in volatile disapproval as Anna Molly calls for the bell!
Carson: Here are your winners via disqualification, RUN 'N' GUN!!
Win-Loss Records:
Jack Valentine 3-2
Phil McGroin 6-3-1
Brian White 7-7
Tommy Young 7-6
Phoenix: Oh, what the hell? Cain and The Black Flame have taken it upon themselves to ruin this great match!
With White taken out by Cain's Dragon Rage, The Liberation and Zephyris all team up on Young 3-on-1, slapping and stomping him out in the corner. The bell continues to ring as Eli Waters and Erica Moxie attack Valentine and McGroin, Waters taking out Valentine with a boot to the face and Moxie hitting McGroin with a low blow and a DDT!
Jeffrey: This is ridiculous...
Roberts: An outright mugging!
Cain turns to Moxie and Waters and demand they pick up Valentine. They do so and Cain runs forward, smashing Valentine in the chin with another DRAGON RAGE!
Phoenix: Cain has taken out the champ! The Black Flame have laid everyone to waste!
MagneZ and Kim run down to the ring but are ambushed at the bottom of the ramp by The Liberation and Zephyris. Cain looks around the arena, then hones in at ringside. He rolls out of the ring, grabs the 4CW World Championship and rolls back into the ring with it.
Cain: Clock is ticking, boys! And this will soon be MINE!!
Cain holds the 4CW World Championship up high. As White, Young, Valentine and McGroin all lay around the ring, reeling from their beatings, Cain stands in the middle of the ring, title held high in the air as we go off the air.
