WWE has been trying to “close the holes” that AEW can exploit going forward, reports the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. With neither Raw or Smackdown going towards a wrestling heavy direction, NXT - with a very heavy wrestling product - was placed directly against AEW to close that particular hole while pyro is being brought back since AEW will likely have it on their shows. WWE initially phased out pyro as a cost-cutting measure but with the amount of money they are making on their new TV deals, there’s really no reason not to bring it back if it appeals to a certain group of their fans.

If this is true: Lets ignore bad storylines and poor use of talent. Let's just slap some pyro on there and everyone will come back to watching our product.

I miss pyro. More than happy to have it back. Granted they have other issues, but so does AEW. I'll always take pyro over no pyro lol.

Oh yeah, love a good pyro. They should be bringing them back because they're fucking cool, not because AEW do them. I really hope the AEW doing them isn't the reason though.
