Amid rumors about their status with WWE, the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter confirms the reports that The Revival did indeed ask for their release immediately after their match "still in their gear" on Monday against Kalisto & Gran Metalik.

Talk is that they want to sign for AEW where they feel they'd be respected as a tag team more.

According to a report by Pro Wrestling Sheet, add Maria and Mike Kannellis as two more disgruntled employees who have apparently asked for a release from their WWE contracts. They add that the husband/wife duo has been "unhappy" with the way they've been used in WWE for a while and made the decision to request the release a few weeks ago.

Wouldn't be surprised if this is true. They've been a complete waste of time. But you could tell that they would be after just a few weeks of absolute shit booking. No one was interested in their stints and none of them were entertaining.

WWE have apparently not accepted any of the requests.

According to PWInsider.com, Dolph Ziggler's status with WWE is up in the air. Ziggler has not been on WWE TV since last month after losing to Drew McIntyre and has removed the "Dolph Ziggler" name from his Twitter account, going simply by his real name, Nic Nemeth. Ziggler had previously been rumored to have signed a new contract extension with WWE, but those reports proved to be false and his contract is expiring later this month. Internally, there is a split opinion on his future with WWE - some are saying he will be leaving the company as of February and others suggesting that he won't be going anywhere.

This is an interesting one, and would be the most impactful. I like Ziggler. He's criminally underbooked. Changing his Twitter handle to his real name and reports of this being the month when his contract is meant to end. It seems like it could be the end for him in WWE. At least if he did leave, he'd have some great matches at AEW. That would be one more reason for me to watch that whenever it's available.

But this is the thing now. If AEW are serious and can prove that they mean business and actually make money, then we could see more wrestlers look to better themselves there and WWE will have a fight on their hands.
