Awesome, if be happy if they wanted to make her a permanent fixture on the commentary team. Although I'd rather she replaced Graves instead of Coachman... Still can't stand Graves.
Ninjak, you don't come across as sexist. WWE is very "look how progessive we are" and it can get tiresome.
Been saying for years Renee would make a great member of the commentary team. I wish her all the best success and its a great step forward.

I've loved Renee since her humble days as a host on the post-Raw Canadian talk program, Aftermath. She was such an obvious long-time fan and was very animated and high-spirited. She's a great interviewer, and I wish her the best of luck for this coming Monday.

Cool, glad I'm not the only one. All over Rene being on the announce team though, and it helps that you can tell that she's clearly a fan of the business.

She's going to be made a permanent addition to the team according to reports. Great news as far as I'm concerned. I can't remember ever saying or thinking it, but we finally have a good addition to the commentary team. Now if they get rid of Cole and Graves and get someone better in, Raw commentary will be completely bearable for me. Although that would really only solve part of the problem, as they're clearly told to act as they are (at times making the show more about them than the wrestling, contradicting each other and just being dicks that seems to go beyond being a heel commentator). Anyway, great move!

I agree, it's great news. I've been saying for years Renee on commentary would be so fresh and it is. She's killing it.

I'm stoked. Well, as much as one can be about RAW. 😋

Awesome news and well deserved.
As we have noted before, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that it's been "almost unanimous" in the backstage opinion that Renee Young was doing a better job in the color commentator role than Jonathan Coachman. Couple that with the fact that the company is pushing diversity in these roles and having Renee there supports the WWE's position with women ultimately led to her securing a permanent role at the announce table.
"Couple that with the fact that the company is pushing diversity in these roles". Sad that this part is probably true. Fuck the diversity part, she's there because she's clearly better than the alternative and deserves it. Jobs should be on merit and nothing else, which she has done. Not because she's female, but because she's been superb and a good change.
I hope that's just stupid people reporting shit. She's there because she's shown that she's good and has the passion and desire for it. Nothing to do with her having no cock. And if it is, then that's just sad and takes away that she's there because she deserves it.

WWE has announced that Rene Young will call every match on the upcoming edition of Raw, the last episode before SummerSlam. Though women have provided commentary on individual matches before, she will be the first to call an entire episode. I'm not going to lie, some of the womens revolution has bored me and kinda fed up with it. Royal Rumble, etc. Some has been good, others just seem unnecessary apart from for the publicity of it (come on, does anyone really want to sit through two Rumble matches in one night? I didn't, and that event felt so fucking long). But at least they're doing it in stages and growing it (because we all know the talent wasn't fully there when it started), as that makes something like this, something that I can get on board with, as I love Rene Young. A female commentator could actually be a nice change as well, as commentary to me is one of the big downsides of WWE to the point that sometimes I have to mute it to keep watching. This could be a really positive move and I'm looking forward to it. Hopefully could lead to a permanent new position for her. This lady knows her stuff and is very confident on the mic, so she's going to completely own the role.
I realise that what I've wrote might come across as sexist, but I do believe in equal rights. I just don't agree with some of how WWE have done it is all. This is the first one I'm genuinely excited about though.
