Belly's Raw Thoughts 17.06.13

Well here we go again, Not a review of Raw just my thoughts as it went along..

I didnt mind the pre show voiceover segment on this Raw as it showed a brief bit of each PPV match and showed the results as well, No need to order if you hadnt seen it as you just saw the end to each match haha...

I kind of expected ADR to come out in a car again tonight, there must be room as Ryback wont need to come out in his Ambulance...  As it seemed that ADR was starting his heel turn at Payback and only a heel ADR gets to drive a car out, the crowd start to boo until RR announces his name in which they all join in haha... Atleast we know ADR is a Bird and a A plane. I think they meant "IS it a bird, Is it a plane" not "He is a bird, He is a plane" haha... ADR complaining they cheered for Dolph over him after WM.. hell that crowd cheered for Fandango doesnt mean they liked him (Although in this case, everyone prefers Dolph over ADR haha, the fans recognise talent haha).. I guess the Heel turn is complete now tho, ADR trying all the stops to get people to boo him, even trying to start a USA chant up which never really worked.

The WWE Title may be the supposed Top title in the business, but every other title has better matches... Just a quick thought...

If there's one way to ensure you are the man being booed, its to go up against Punk and after what happened at Payback and the video posted on WWE.com with Punk telling Heyman he isn't a Client, I cant see Punk staying with Heyman for long tbh... I just wish they had gone with my idea of having Brock cost Punk the WM match against Taker and have Heyman turn on him in a huge way on the biggest stage of them all, but now WWE surely cant keep trying to ignore the cheers that Punk is getting..  I guess CM Punk has been made to wear a WWE hoodie tonight instead of the Gracie Ju-Jitsu Hoodie he had on for Payback haha... After seeing what's happening between Punk and Heyman, I am gonna guess that the turn happens tonight or next week as they can't keep him heel any longer...

Definitely looking forward to seeing CM Punk and Heyman go against each other, gonna be some kick ass promos

They are getting their monies worth out of Vicki and her puppy dog tonight, having her come out again and introduce a returning Christian, that's 2 "Face decisions" she has made tonight... Christian is looking well though, A little surprised to see Barrett get back to back loses, but would have been bad for Christian to lose on his return and winning clean as well.

Why do we have to have Sheamus on Raw, and a handicap match against Team Rhodes Scholars, if Sheamus wins they this is stupid and pointless... At least Sheamus didn't win, Cody being fed to the wolves and looking like the lesser partner now though as Sandow is receiving the push.

I like Trips segment with Vicki, calling out some clear faults with how Raw is always booked... what would have been the Main Event if CM Punk hadn't challenged ADR and some truth about Christian and RVD...  Some honesty and sarcasm, actually enjoyed a Trips segment...

nice D-Bry segment, cutting his ties with Kane etc but doing it in a good way as both Kane and D-Bry keep on good terms and declaring intentions to go after the WWE Title.. I am definitely Team DB

Dont understand why we have to have a stipulation for the D-Bry vs Randy match though, a normal wrestling match will be perfectly fine.. Why isn't that one of the options??? Well the match could have ended the exact same way no matter which stipulation it was...  Not sure about this ending of the match though... I can understand them doing 1 Concussion related storyline, but having it over many different matches is kind of annoying, I guess the Trips storyline never went they way they wanted and then they gone back to it with the Ziggler match last night and now they doing it tonight with D-Bry.... IF they are going to stop the match after every headshot, they this will come a non contact wrestling show very quickly....

Great to see AJ with the Divas title, her match last night was good and she pulled a decent match out of Kaitlyn and I almost wish AJ would bring back the Women's title and get rid of that Divas title... I was hoping for a glorious entrance and debut for Paige from NXT when AJ was asking for a woman to come out.. but instead we get Stephanie instead, why is she here... she should be keeping herself off TV... Stephanie talks about a stereotype of women being vicious... would she prefer the stereotype of Tits & Ass??? Telling AJ to act like a champion, she only been a champ for 1 day, give her chance!!  Funny seeing Big E carry her AJ away though haha

Decent rematch until the rest of The Shield interfered in the match, I was hoping Ambrose would get the win on his own again, winning by count out at Payback i thought was great for his character as it should some good thinking etc and I was hoping for a smart finish again tonight, guess its just setting up for some kind of punishment from Vicki though...

Surprised Vicki couldn't think of a punishment and here comes Vince, I guess they are setting up a Trips vs Vince power struggle in WWE with Vicki being a puppet in the middle pulled in all directions.. I wonder if this will eventually set up for a permanent Raw GM hmmm.... maybe...

Bit of a stretch to try and tell why Zeb Colter has joined forces with Cesaro though, but great to see William Regal once again on Raw just a shame he is obviously going to lose...  Nice to hear Michael Cole actually talking some sense about Colter aligning with Cesaro though ha...

Here comes Cena... doing his usual "I dont mind people booing me" routine, he needs to get some new material, but then again, the constant complaining every week gets old as well, and no matter how loud people boo, no one ever listens because he is good PR with Make A Wish etc and kids love him blah blah blah, no need to go on because we all have said it and heard it before...  Sounds like Cena is just copying and pasting some old promos, nothing new was said.. Here comes Mark Henry... Cant believe he is retiring, hopefully he interrupting Cena for a reason... Not sure if Salmon pink is his colour though... I was waiting for him to announce that Sexual Chocolate was back during his promo haha...  haha just as i typed this, the Sexual Chocolate chants started haha...  Its a shame that even in the inevitable match against Cena, he won't win that WWE Title, it be nice if he did though especially if they let him go as he did last year during his World Heavyweight Title run, he was booked great back then like a real monster... Nice end to the match, not sure if he needed to get so emotional in the seg, he could have kept it shorter, shame Cena will end up overcoming the odds as always though...

Jericho vs Slater ended about how everyone expected with 3MB living up to the ironic expectations of Triple H not sure why they had this match though as it never really set anything up for Jericho going towards MITB... hmmm, any excuse to see Jericho is good enough though..

Sin Cara vs Axel match up next, they had a decent match on Smackdown a few weeks ago, so this should be OK, nice to see the one half of the first Father Son duo to hold the IC Championship  though and hoping he can win by conventional means and not a count out tonight... Not sure why they are wrestling with Sin Cara's lighting though? Axel is the IC Champ so shouldn't this match be done to his liking and not Sin Cara. this yellow light really annoys me...

The Power struggle begins between Trips and Vince and apparently Stephanie as well.. a 3 way power struggle.. hmmmm......??

Punk vs ADR is up next and a quick seg with Heyman and CM Punk has swapped back out of the WWE hoodie and into the Gracie Ju-Jitsu hoodie that he wore last night...  The match has been good, with Punk playing the face role and ADR going to the Heel role, still disappointed there was no car for his entrance...  The end kept both men in good light playing their respective roles and great to see Ziggler going crazy on ADR, was great to watch and seemed more real as he was just unleashing everything he had... Punk was even happy to take the count out victory as it proves his Best in the World thing which was the reason for the match I guess... HA.. here comes Brock.. I guess we know where this is going haha, Good end to Raw and the face turn I guess is complete and the feud is set up for MITB...

Overall the show was ok with some new storylines being set up etc, but can't help but feel the emphasise being put more towards the World Heavyweight title and Punk rather than the WWE Title which is great, but you know that's probably not how they intended it to be and seen as though Cena is the champ, they will have the WWE Title match be the last match at MITB where as if anyone else was champion, it wouldn't be because it hasn't been the main focus... Ah well...  NEXT...
