Multi-Women Matches and Other Incoherent Gripes About Women

The Blue Print

WWE has a plague and its Multi-Women matches. Sure we have this new fancy Womens Revolution in the WWE but this issue with cramming all the women together in a match on a Raw or Smackdown has been a decade old issue. More often than not the womens bouts on the TV shows have more than two women in them in some form of tag match. When I see an actual singles match from the women on TV I find myself in shock! My eyes aren't used to it! Little stuff that they haven't changed with the women like this is why I think the Womens Revolution was a half assed effort.

There is also the annoying thing where all the women have to be paired together with someone. It's so freakin' annoying. Why does every woman need a friend or an ally? Then they recycle the whole "best friends turn on each other" angle with them constantly. They don't even give us reasons to care about their friendship. I should care that these two girls are friends because what? They are both faces? I know in two or three months one will be a heel!  Its little reasons like these that make it hard for me to take the women as serious as the men. The WWE isn't fully committed, why should I bet? Seriously what is Tamina's gimmick?

Maybe I'm over tired and am missing something here, please let me know if I am! They came into the start of the Womens Revolution with the foot on the gas but since the turn of the year they have drastically taken their foot off the gas. Maybe it just seems that way because Bayley turned out to be a huge flop at the beginning of the year?

So enough of my gripes. There is one woman the WWE has built right and that is Charlotte Flair. You could make the argument that she is the best built female wrestler of all time right? Everytime she comes out to the ring she seems like a big deal, she seems like a legit threat, and shes the only woman I really think "main event" when watching. But her direction lately kind of furthers my point that they have taken the foot off the gas. Why is Charlotte just kind of floating around? Why are so many good WWE stars in general just floating around and people like Jinder Mahal are being focused on?

Alexa is another woman they have done a great job with. They've found a star here and you just love to hate her. I'd say she has been the best built woman on the roster in the last year. Right now the cornerstones of the womens roster should be Charlotte, Sasha, Becky Lynch, and Alexa Bliss. Build around them! Anyways, I kinda just started ranting here. I'll cut this post off here.

Main Event

They're treating them almost the same as they do the men. The problem is that as their roster is so much smaller and they tend to only get one, maybe two matches per show, it's more noticeable.

Quite a lot, mainly on Raw it seems, they end the show with tag matches involving two different feuds. But then you get all the male singles matches as well so it's not as predominant in the mind as when they do it to that one womens match on the show.

The current Charlotte situation is odd. She's by far the best in either brand when it comes to talent, made better by her seeming to be very comfortable on the mic and handling any crowd reaction like it's nothing. I kind of get why they've taken the foots off the peddle with her, as it allows others to shine and get a chance at the top of that division. But the argument is that she's by far the best and so should be at the top of the division. She'll get back up there though, far too good to not do so.

They have some way to go with the division though. Charlotte is in a class of her own. Lynch, Bliss and Banks are all good enough. Just no where near enough to build up a division on each brand.

Hopefully the upcoming womens tournament changes things. Pack some of the shit back down to NXT till they improve and get the divisions full of talented women that can at least look like they belong.
