WWE Superstar John Cena is currently on hiatus from WWE while he finishes wrapping season two of American Grit. He was expected to be back on the road with Smackdown by the end of December or early January 2017. Those plans may have changed now because Variety is reporting that Cena has been cast in Kay Cannon’s directorial debut, The Pact.
The film also stars Ike Barinholtz and Leslie Mann as three parents who find out their daughters have made a pact to lose their virginities on prom night. The three parents then rush to stop it from happening.
The role could cause Cena to delay his return even further.
I'd still expect an appearance at the Rumble. Can't have us forgetting who he is now, can they?

He should start a feud with the Miz, who becomes jealous. We've seen that they can put on good matches together before so why not.
Finally an end to the AJ Styles, Ambrose & Cena trio where no one else will get a look in. Okay it's not been that long, but still... I feel like they've done enough of it being those three now. With the brand split though, this makes things a bit harder to replace Cena.
