I can't wait to see how he'll do. He's not a freak specimen like Lesnar who's just a natural athlete. He seems to work bloody hard though, and he's putting in the time to make sure that he's 100% ready, so good on him. He could have let it all go to his head and rushed in, but he's taking his time and I'm expecting him to do well in his first fight.
Not sure how far I expect him to go through. Doubt he'll win a title, but it'll certainly be fun watching him fight and he'll pull in some good money doing it.
That first fight will be all or nothing for Punk, I think. If he loses, I don't see him fighting again.

I can. He's a determined guy. Can't see one set back stopping him. His worry is the usual UFC unwritten rule where you're out if you lose 3 in a row. So if he loses, he needs to learn form it and come back stronger, which I'm sure he would. He just doesn't seem like the kind of guy that would quit at one set back.
I would usually agree with you but I'm saying it mainly because his debut has been delayed so much and he clearly has some lingering injuries. I hope he wins, I want to see him be successful, but I could just as easily see him get destroyed and leave the UFC.

Update on CM Punk's fight. UFC 202 it looks like. It looks like it is finally happening. Good luck to Brock and Punk, lets show that Pro Wrestlers can kick ass at MMA!
According to Jeremy Botter of FloCombat, CM Punk’s first UFC fight looks like it will be taking place at UFC 202 on August 20th in Las Vegas.
As we previously noted, UFC is currently working on a documentary special profiling Mickey Gall, who is expected to be Punk’s first opponent, and the release of the special would coincide for an August 20th fight at UFC 202.
If the fight does indeed take place at UFC 202, it will join a card headlined by Conor McGregor vs Nate Diaz 2, but Botter was “careful” to note he hopes he didn’t ruin any announcements. This is of course a mild shot at UFC for throwing MMA journalist Ariel Helwani out of UFC 199 last night and banning him from the promotion for life after Helwani reported the news of Brock Lesnar fighting at UFC 200 and McGregor vs Diaz 2 before UFC made the official announcements

UPDATE:
With each passing day I get more doubtful that CM Punk is going to have any success in the UFC. Really rooting for the dude, but he's not really off to a great start.
