I never have a lot of time to watch stuff, so I find myself only really watching the things I record on Sky+ and I never have enough time to watch all of that as is evident by my Sky+ continuinly growing and me not seemingly making a dent on it.. I still have a whole season of Boardwalk Empire to watch, but it seems the more episodes of a certain series that get aved up, the less likely I am to want to find the energy to watch them because it seems like a chore knowing ive got 5 or 6 of 1 show to watch as well as everything else, and I simply don't have time to watch everything...
But everything is finishing shortly, and with only a couple of series like Falling Skies and Continum being recorded through the summer, then I should eventually start winning the battle and begin making a dent on my list...

I watch TV because it's something that can be done without exerting any physical effort. With my job now, I am climbing ladders all day and lifting things. When I get off work, I just want to sit down and be entertained. Most of the time I'm not but there are shows that I can watch all the time. I love the UFC and I can sit and watch their programming and not be bored. I tend to lose hours sometimes when I watch. Then again, I watch some shows because I am so disappointed in my own reality that I want to lose myself in someone else's. I mean, if my life was awesome, I probably wouldn't be sitting in front of the TV.

Just wondering, because I wonder why I watch sometimes.
I watch, mostly, because it's a background distraction from whatever else I am doing (I tend to be doing two or three things at the same time most days). I also watch in the hope of seeing something fresh and new that draws me in and makes me want to watch (which happened with Walking Dead and Dexter). Most of what I watch is low brain background noise tho.

I do the same thing.. i'm very much a multitask person so i'm rarely ever just doing one thing unless it's late and i'm just winding down the hours and minutes of my day... so yeah for the most part it's a backround distraction when i'm not really in the mood for music.. which isn't very often but sometimes yeah i don't want to listen to music.
I have a few shows i try to watch during the week... i have a few hours in the morning to spare most days so i usually watch a sports debate show that i enjoy as well as the hosts... i also watch alot of scripted reality tv shows.. not sure how many of those you guys see on your side of the world but i mean shows like Pawn Stars or shows like that with dumb fake stuff but also offers real insight into historic objects or events... also i like adult swim... robot chicken, family guy... the silly american stuff 😋.
other then maybe those few hours a week i'm not a big tv fan.
I do watch wrestling still sometimes but i honestly tend to forget it's on tv these days... but i watch wrestling dvds on netflix...most recently the 2012 NWO dvd... good stuff even though i knew about all of it since i watched all of that growing up.

I do home inspections and sales for a construction company. Up on roofs all the time. No rags on a stick. Sorry to ruin your vision. Haha.
I haven't watched actual tv for going on 7 months. Unless I am at my friends house, where we watch the local channels, crap like Judge Judy or Family Guy reruns. My moms tv blew out and I gave her my cable cord from my room to put on the back up tv she has now. Haven't watched tv since. I download everything or use netflix. I miss MLB Network, I guess I miss Adult Swim. But really aside from baseball which I can still follow I have no use for tv anymore. One day I will watch again I suppose. But really watching everything in HD on the Boxee is much better.

I'm much the same. I don't watch TV stations very much. The only thing I really watch is sport. Everything else is downloaded or on DVD. I find with shows I like to wait until a whole season has aired on televison before starting to watch. That way I can watch whenever suits and enjoy the story more with ad breaks. I am also going back and finding a lot of older shows that I love.

I mainly watch TV as background noise to. But most of the TV I watch I call "conversational" TV. Meaning, it's shows that aren't so much meant to be sat in front of and you stare at the TV and don't miss a second of it, more-so, you watch, and then the show starts a conversation among friends or room mates.
I also don't watch a lot of modern TV other then Revolution and wrestling (I don't have regular TV, just Netflix and Hulu Plus on my Xbox), I dig revolution even though it's a little slow.
I guess mainly the two reasons I watch TV is for supplemental noise, or if I find a TV show with an interesting enough concept. A show like Revolution, although it's not AMAZING is good for talking about, the whole concept of "What if all the lights went out, and couldn't be turned back on" is interesting.
Other then that, I like The Amazing Race, cookie-cutter as it is, I like seeing regular people sprung into extraordinary circumstances.
My room mates tend to marathon watch shows which I think is frickin' lame. Go out and do something, or clean up the living room! Stop using my Xbox to watch 2 seasons of Dr. Who in a day when the kitchen floor needs mopping!
Once a man would spend a week patiently waiting if he missed a stage coach, but now he rages if he misses the first section of a revolving door.
I don't really watch much mainstream TV. I have a select few shows I like to keep up with but for the most part I'm kept in the dark. Although I was surprised to see a documentary on BBC Three about a Call Centre in Swansea that I used to work at. Made me realise they'll stick anything on TV these days lol.

Thanks Taker_2004 for the banner!
Rd, dont diss dr who! Its worth not mopping the kitchen floor to see it
Doctor Who is the best thing on TV. Always has been and always will be. Only thing I watch on TV. Everything else I download.
