Huge announcement on Raw, in a move that I'm not sure how to feel about. On one had the winner should be going to Mannia to challenge for the belt... on the other hand, it's nice that they've mixed things up in an interesting way with the Rumble (better than "let's just add 10 more people in"). For the first time in WWE history, the reigning WWE World Heavyweight Champion will defend his title in the Rumble match.

Reigns either loses the belt, or becomes just the fourth person to win back-to-back Rumble matches.

A few more people have been announced as well.

  • WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns
  • Chris Jericho
  • Bray Wyatt
  • Erick Rowan
  • Luke Harper
  • Braun Strowman
  • Dolph Ziggler
  • Ryback
  • Big Show
  • Curtis Axel
  • Brock Lesnar
  • Sheamus
  • Stardust

I hate this. The Rumble is fine as it is. Lesnar will no doubt enter the Rumble and either win or finish 2nd leading to our WrestleMania rematch but still; they are taking away one of the most interesting things of the WWE calendar year.

I know, whilst part of me thinks it's a cool concept, a bigger part of me just thinks that this is meant to be the way to determine the number one contender for Mannia. Also, if just seems obvious that Reigns will be one of the last two left in the Rumble. No way they'd have him thrown out with 10 people left to go.

I'd be pretty surprised to see Roman Reigns lose his title. But its Mania time and remember that year that the title swapped a million times before Mania? If Reigns were to lose his title it would be to Lesnar. But it is a tough call really on how he loses it. Because I could see Triple H returning and screwing Reigns out of it, maybe not entering the Rumble match though. So watch John Cena randomly win it... haha

Apparently it won't be Cena as if he has the injury he says he has, then he'll be out for up to 9 months. He's apparently got a torn rotator cuff, so if set to have shoulder surgery.

Mid Card

I really want to be excited for the Rumble, it's my favourite show of the year.  But the last few have been so crappy I feel like I don't care about it.

I wouldn't be surprised if Triple H entered and won, setting up Reigns vs. H at Mania with Reigns going over, WWE's way of cementing his status as a main eventer.

New match added to the Rumble, as well as some more confirmed entrants.

Seems like the Owens and Ambrose feud is really being highlighted on Smackdown mostly. I'm excited to see the last man standing match. I like how they are giving the IC title the time of day finally. It usually is the spotlight of Smackdown and they get a good spot on the card at the Rumble.

The Last Man Standing match will be amazing. Hopefully they get a fair amount of time since there won't be a singles WWE Title match on the card.

Two new matches were confirmed on Raw last night. Womens (or that horrible term Divas) match and the US Title rematch.

It was also announced that Reigns will be the number one entry in the Rumble - pushing him this hard is a good way to get the fans on his back again. Personally think it'd be better to have him come in somewhere near the middle and win, if he's going to retain. Preference though is for AJ Styles to debut relatively early and eliminate Reigns (like before entrant number 10 comes out), and then he goes on to win - would be an amazing debut, and for the last 20 or so entrants we're left wondering who will win to be the new champ and will actually make the Rumble that little bit more enjoyable.

Very wishful thinking there to think AJ Styles would even debut in the Rumble. The WWE would have to acknowledge other companies and we all know that is something that is really difficult for them to suck up their pride and do. I still see Triple H coming back at the Rumble. Probably won't win it, but I can definitely see that happening, can't put anything past them! I hope that Reigns loses somehow though... Otherwise its so predictable 😕 I guess I'd rather have Reigns win though than someone like Sheamus.

My final four I have
Roman Reigns
Triple H
Brock Lesnar
Bray Wyatt

Would be awesome to see Wyatt win the whole thing. Watch Taker returns and eliminates Lesnar. I guess you could swap out Wyatt with Jericho, because WWE likes to put that returning superstar who wont be around very long at the end. Could see that happening. I don't know what I am more excited about the Rumble or the Last Man Standing match.

There are rumours that AJ will be making his debut at the Rumble. He even acknowledged them and teased it at one point. Seems almost a sure thing that he's signed with WWE now. They don't even have to acknowledge TNA - most people know who he is anyway, and they can just do what they usually do when they sign a big name - "he's wrestled all around the world for years" kind of talk.

New "By The Numbers" video package is out as well for this years Rumble.

Yeah, I saw that fan video of him teasing it. I really would love for him to debut in the Rumble. But its WWE and I don't have faith in it. They will think no one will know who he is. Even though alot of us do. I think it's wishful thinking, but it would be a heck of a way to debut a guy. Plus AJ Styles has a ton of respect by the wrestlers if i recall right.  Alot of people say hes the best wrestler out there who hasnt wrestled with the WWE. He's one of my favorites so I hope they don't really screw this up

Yeah, "it's the perfect way to introduce him" is the reason why I wish it would happen, but likely won't. To come in and win the Rumble and WWE Title on your debut would be something really special. So won't happen lol.

He won't come close to winning but twenty minutes with a few eliminations I think would do him justice.

Throwing AJ in the rumble just to be tossed out in no which you guys know would happen regardless of plans they have for him not going to do him any favors...i'd like to see him just show up on raw cut a promo basically like scott hall did on his wcw/nwo debut and then begin a legit stable that destroys everyone to the point the authority can't keep the rampage in control any longer...they have caused in check (the stable would be like anti heroes in a way but technically heels) and eventually with Stephanie has to turn to people shes done wrong for help... Sting... Rollins... maybe Regins? And if he is ok She begs Daniel Bryan to help "save wwe"... let it play out most of the year if not longer.

Idk not the most original idea but its something else.

The least exicited I've ever been for a rumble the outcome is way too obvious either Roman wins from #1 or trips wins I'm more exicited for Owens/Ambrose

I like how they tried to throw the Wyatt family in there at the end of Raw to make it so "unpredictable". As long as it is an entertaining match I don't mind it being so predictable. Every once in a while the WWE knows that it is being precieved as predictable and throws a curveball. That's my hope.. still gonna predict Taker interfering to eliminate Lesnar. Don't know who Taker could face at Mania now that Cena is injured and that was "the plan". Lesnar and Taker again I betcha!

I really cannot get excited about Triple H winning the championship... i liked the show though.

I'm glad AJ didn't look terrible... i thought they handled it well.

I like Triple H, still think he's better than more than half the roster... but winning the WWE Title? No, just no. Glad Reigns didn't retain, but I really wish that someone else had won it. They should have had Triple H just run down and chuck Reigns out, not as an entrant, but just a random run down to the ring. That would have been much better.

Disappointed that AJ didn't win though. Would have been the perfect debut. Is he going to feud with Owens now, or will Owens feud with Zayn, now that Zayn has returned?

Lesnar v Wyatt feud it is then. Should be okay, Lesnar can have a good match with practically anyone, but it will be disappointing to see Wyatt lose yet another Mania match.

I came away happy with the result if I'm honest. It was kinda predictable, but they owned it. It was also kinda nice that it wasn't trips and roman staring each other down at the end there, so not completely predictable.

I also really enjoyed AJ's debut. The "Holy shit, really?" Look from Reigns was perfect and I'm glad they gave him the time. It was also nice that they actually commented on his past accomplishments, noting he held the IWGP heavyweight championship, so I expect him to do well. And 28 minutes in your debut rumble is certainly a good go. He seemed to be the best worker in there.

Loved the show. I'm fine with Trips winning, story-wise it makes the most sense. Wyatt/Lesnar will be awesome when it happens (probably Mania).

I still don't like it. Good show mind you. But the only part-time guy that should hold the title is Brock, as he's on another level to anyone else on the show, especially with the crowd. AJ should have won, and then brought in the rest of the Bullet Club in a week or two and announce that they're taking over - that would have been perfect.

I did like how it didn't come down to Triple H and Reigns though. I guess I just didn't like how it was so predictable - loads of people were saying before about how he'd come in at number 30 and win. Sad when it's that obvious. I'd have much preferred him to just run down and throw Reigns out, but not as an entrant in the Rumble. Do it three quarters of the way through and then the last quarter would have been amazing with fans wonder who would be walking out as the new champ. The Triple H-Reigns story continues.

Other than that though, I liked it. Much better than last years, but that wouldn't have been difficult really.
