This is harry way of getting himself back in the public eye for the England job again. I think the thought process he wants is-
'Players wild rather play for him than England, because he's such a good man manager so we should get him in'
Typical harry, building himself up again. Won't be long and he'll be talking about how he would have done things differently and taken John Terry and Ashley Cole.
Hopefully he'll never get the chance to go against a top side, because his all out attack policy would be destroyed by any side in the world's top 20...
Who else could it be? He barely had any England guys other than Defoe. Maybe Walker and Rose? Townsend wasn't a big deal back then and I get the impression he'd love to be in the England squad anyway.

He isn't a big deal now.
Harry Redknapp is an attention seeker, and if anyone is acting surprised at the fact that English players dodge international duty you need to stop being so naive and face reality. Alex Ferguson was an expert at keeping players from going on international duty.

Lennon, Crouch, Dawson, Bentley, Bent, Huddlestone, Jenas? It could be anybody. To put it in perspective, Redknapp took over Spurs in 2008 & Heskey was still getting England caps in 2010.
Or it could be something as trivial as Ledley King not being about to play squad games & internationals because of his dodgy knee's and wanting to be pulled out of international duty.

Good old 'Arry has claimed that certain England Internationals asked him to get them out of International duty with England when he was Tottenham manager. Should he name and shame them? And let's just speculate for the fun of it. I've already seen some funny comments on it, probably from Arsenal fans, saying how 5-10 years ago Tottenham didn't have any good English players so would have been no loss. Whilst funny, every player should see it as an honour to play for their country. Harry should name and shame them and shouldn't be included in any further England squads... although if one is Defoe I can't see him ever getting back in the team with where he's playing now.
