Daniel Bryan's bad neck

So, Daniel Bryan has legit hurt his neck it seems. Having some surgery done this Thursday and is expected to miss 6-8 weeks.

From the reports I've been reading, they're keeping their options open at the moment with regards to the title. With Bryan not being able to defend, 6-8 weeks isn't too bad. But if the surgery doesn't go well or they find out that it's worst than they thought, then they'll have to strip him of the title.

However long he's out, hopefully he get's better soon. Never good having neck injuries. And it's very bad  timing coming so soon after the massive story line on his fight to get to the top.

Its been reported as a minor broken neck. How a neck break can be minor I dont know. Word is he'll return at SummerSlam assuming all goes well.

They had to re-write parts of Raw on Monday morning, so they didn't know it was this serious until very recently. If they'd have known, he wouldn't have worked Extreme Rules. I haven't heard that it was one bump that did it, probably an accumulation over time. The surgery will be relatively minor and uninvasive, but they don't know the extent of what's going on in there so it may be worse than expected. I guess we'll see on Friday.

Apparently Bryan is going to be stripped of the title due to the recovery time.

Not heard anything bad on it, so can only take that as it went well, which is good. You know if it went bad or was worse than first thought that the news companies would be all over it. Heard nothing though apart from that they're going to be stripping him of the title.

Guess they can re-do the whole Bryan chasing down the title story once again when he returns.

If all goes well, he could come back at SummerSlam vs Brock Lesnar for the WWE Title, or something along those lines. Have Lesnar return at Money in the Bank and win the title, then have Bryan return for SummerSlam. They were going to have Lesnar on a "normal" PPV anyway. So have him win at Money in the Bank, he could beat Bryan at SummerSlam and then at Night of Champions in September Bryan could win the title back. That way Lesnar gets a few months with the title, Bryan can have the run he was supposed to have leading into the Rumble or something and everybody wins.

Reports are saying that his neck injury isn't healing as planned and his right arm is getting weaker not stronger. The expected plan is that the title will be vacated and will be part of a money in the bank match. Good call if that goes ahead. Better than just having a normal match for a vacated title.

He basically has until the end of the month to prove he's fit enough. As much as I like Bryan and would like him to stay champion, you can't risk something like this. Vacate the title and when he does return to action he'll be bigger than ever as fans will want to see him get his title back that he never actually lost.

Yeah. The Stretcher match might not even go ahead but I hope it does. Obviously, his health comes first, but his momentum is great at the moment and it would be a real shame if he had to vacate the title again.

According to an exclusive report at SEScoops.com, Daniel Bryan found out backstage at Raw today that he will NOT be able to compete at the upcoming Money in the Bank pay-per-view against Kane.

As a result, Bryan will be forced to surrender the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and the winner of the Money in the Bank ladder match will be crowned the new champion.

Now that the news is out, an announcement regarding the situation could be made on tonight's RAW.

Guess that we'll have an good MITB match with the title on the line then instead of Bryan vs Kane.

I reckon this will work in Bryans favour. Fans will be going nuts for him to reclaim the belt that he never technically lost, which will make him an even bigger star when he returns.

Wouldn't be shocked if he never touches the title again... i think he is amazing and i have for a long time now... but the wwe is strange and i really could see them being like "well the kane feud wasn't good, and he got injured and wasn't helping wwe when the company lost almost a billion dollars in 3 months" even though that has nothing to do with him.

i just personally hope DB can heal up and be alright in general i don't even really care if he wrestles again at this point... when the neck is going like his seems to be... maybe it's best to just quit while you are ahead.

I'd only be ok with Brock if he signs a new contract with a few more dates... it's up after WM and he only has like two matches left for this year on his current deal i believe... i kinda doubt it happens... but it could... it just would make more sense for Brock to win it and keep it and dominate for at least 6 straight months as opposed to dropping the title in a month or so and having maybe one defense thrown in.

Former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan's physical condition is worse than originally believed.

Bryan recently underwent neck surgery and his return was delayed because he was experiencing complications with the strength in one of his arms. According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, a thorough medical examination revealed additional shoulder and neck issues.

The latest is that Daniel Bryan probably needs shoulder surgery. Due to the uncertainty regarding his in-ring future, WWE has removed Daniel Bryan from all upcoming storylines and the company has no idea when he'll be back in action.

Oh dear. Guess it could be a while before we see him wrestle again.

Man what a bummer.  Hopefully he can be all healed up for a surprise return and win at the Rumble!

As for Lesnar, I'd love to see him as champ, but like Snake said, I'd rather he did a few more dates first.  Though with Lesnar gone all the time if he were champ, would that raise the importance of the IC or US champs?  Doubt it, but it would be cool.

Well, after stopping a burglar with a submission move (epic!), he spoke to the local press and his neck isn't getting any better.

Rajah wrote

During the police press conference with Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella this week, the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion revealed that he was informed by his doctor on Thursday that he will likely need a second surgery to repair his injured neck.

Bryan spoke about how he has half of the strength in his right arm compared to his left. He didn't confirm whether or not he was going to get the surgery, however did say that he was encouraged to do so.

If he does undergo the second surgery, there is no definite report on how long that will keep him out of action.

Really feel bad for the guy. He clearly loves the business and was at his peak when he had to have the surgery. At this point he just needs to focus on getting better. If it takes 6 months, a year or longer better wait and come back to a no doubt massive ovation rather than come back early and not quite 100%... assuming he can come back and is able to wrestle a full schedule again he's got a great future ahead of him... but as proven with Stone Cold and Edge sometimes you are never the same.

They should make sure everyone knows about the burglary. He chased the dude down for 400 metres, tackled him and held him in a light sleeper while the guy begged for mercy. Despite the guy breaking into his house and stealing his stuff - including a bracelet left to him by his late father - he actually did go easy on the guy. I don't think I would have. If WWE doesn't talk about this on Raw tomorrow they're missing out.

The whole robber thing really makes DB a bad ass... you won't find many men willing to stop a robber just out of fear of something bad happening and endangering their family... an nfl player a few years ago was shot and killed while trying to stop a break in... the guys who did it are in prison for life now.

My brother.. good old lithium... showed me a video of a boxer who i guess heard someone breaking in and set up shop recording him beating the fuck out of this guy who broke in.

Good for DB though... at this point i'm really convinced he can be out for 6 months and get a mega pop when he returns...look how over Brei is right now just because she is his wife... and yeah i know steph has a lot of heat also... but still i think he is set.

There's a great story about Dolph Lundgren's house being broken into. Apparently the guys tied up the family and stole a load of stuff...then saw some pictures of Dolph on the wall. They carefully put everything back, untied the family and left.

The Bryan situation just keeps on going. Out for at least a further 3 months as he needs elbow surgery.

It's not quite so bad as it sounds. I mean, it's bad, but I think the story is that his neck is actually fine now. The strength problem is because the nerve is trapped in his elbow rather than his neck, so presumably he can avoid the really bad surgery. Although I may have that totally wrong.

At the WWE SmackDown and Main Event television tapings tonight in Houston Texas, it was announced that former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan will indeed require an additional surgery.

The news was reportedly announced during a Big Show promo segment, where Show revealed the Bryan will be undergoing surgery on his right arm.

Bryan was originally scheduled to undergo a second operation in August of this year, however just a few days before the surgery, doctors informed Bryan that it might not be necessary and that he may be able to recover by simply rehabbing the arm.

The word going around a few weeks ago was that the strength had still not come back to Bryan's arm and that surgery was expected as a result, however this is the first time that it has been publicly acknowledged.

As of right now, there is no timetable in regards to when Daniel Bryan will return to WWE now that he will be undergoing an additional surgery.

The guy seems to have been injured forever. Shame really, but with his popularity, when he eventually returns the roof will be blown off. Hopefully though it's nothing serious now and he can pick up where he left of when he returns as he was on a roll.

Kinda hope they don't announce his return before hand though. Do it as a surprise and then the fans will go really wild.
