Hull City's owner is still banging on about how he wants to change the name of the club to Hull Tigers. The threat to just walk away from the club has gone, as he's now saying that he'll sell it. He's making a threat to the League though, sure they won't take kindly to that.

In any case, a name change isn't going to help that much if at all. The fact that they are in the Premiership is what matters and if they can establish themselves there then they have a chance at getting more money in, especially with the new TV deals in place.

Seems kinda stupid to piss of practically all of your fan base as well. I've seen a few fans posting whether the money a name change brings in will be more than the loss in season ticket and general ticket sales, as they'd only turn up for their team - Hull City.

Interesting one. Personally, I wouldn't be happy at all if Ashley changed the name of Newcastle United. The stadium is one thing, people might not like it but it can bring in very good money and that's proven (Arsenal pull in a fair bit from theirs I believe as do other clubs that have done the same). Changing the name and identity of the club though? That just seems a massive set too far.

What do you guys think?
