WWE Survivor Series 2018

I don't like it when they do Raw vs Smackdown matches... but at the same time, Lesnar vs Styles could be awesome, and Rollins vs Nakamura could tear the house down! Those two matches along could make this PPV imo.

Lesnar vs Styles was awesome last year but knowing WWE they'll fail this time even though it's the exact same match lol.

I'm very worried that they'll squash AJ this time around.... Hopefully Brock will have the sense not to demand that...

Rollins v Nakamura should be amazing though! The rest of the card looks kinda meh to me...

It's a travesty if AJ doesn't win, although also acceptable is if it's a DQ or no contest. Full-time wrestler and champion, who is arguably the best in WWE, against a part-time champion who is there for the money only. AJ should win. If you want to keep Brock strong, have it by DQ or some other method, just don't have AJ pinned or tap out.

Rollins v Nakamura is one I'm really looking forward to. Can't say I'm a fan of how Nakamura has been booked this year, although I love his heel turn and that his signature heel move is to low blow. But he should be booked stronger than he is. So hopefully they let him and Rollins show what they can do because it has the potential to be a match of the year contender.

The rest of the card is okay at best. I'll be watching, looking forward to the same two matches that everyone else is.

Lynch was examined by WWE doctors after Raw and was reportedly found to have a black eye, a concussion and a broken nose and she was not able to travel with the rest of the Smackdown roster to St. Louis - the site of tonight's show. For those asking who or how Lynch was injured, it is not entirely visible from the camera shots, but the injury was caused by Nia Jax and while initially there was no heat on her backstage, reports suggest that that "sentiment has changed."

That's a shame. Could have been a good match, but if they think there's a concussion then they're right to pull her from the card... hopefully they just give Ronda a replacement though. Pulling the whole match from the card is a bit much since Ronda is fine. Apparently it's being addressed tonight, so we'll see what they do.

I read just before Smackdown that there was talk of having Becky drop the title so that they could still do the champion vs champion match, but I'm glad they didn't go that route. Instead we're getting Ronda vs Charlotte, which could be a very good match. Here's hoping!

Also, there's a video going around from a fan in attendance that got the whole Becky broken nose thing on video. Jax full on punched her in the face. It looked like a proper "fuck you" punch, like when JBL smashed Blue Meanie in the face. Except I'd like to think that this was not on purpose.

One major change for the card though, which I can't say I'm interested in, is that Daniel Bryan won the WWE Championship on Smackdown and will now face Lesnar instead. So Bryan has been removed from the survivor series match and been replaced by Jeff Hardy, so that Bryan isn't pulling double-duty. I was looking forward to Lesnar vs Styles, and as good as Bryan is, it just isn't the same. I haven't seen anything on Styles being injured, so it was a real surprise. And I can't see how Lesnar vs Bryan could be good for Bryan - a few german suplexes like in a lot of Lesnar matches, and Bryan could be legit fucked given his concussion past.

It is funny though, because only a week or two ago, I was reading many places reporting how Vince and other writers no longer see Bryan as a main eventer and he won't go much higher than upper mid-card. Now he's WWE Champion again. Just shows how wrong some reports can be.

We literally saw Lesnar v Styles last year. Wasn't gonna be any different. If they are gonna throw together champion v champion matches with no build, I'm perfectly fine with them swapping out AJ for Bryan so we get to see a new dream match.

I wouldn't agree with that... Could have been different and still be pretty great. Granted, could also have been worse... But just because we saw it last year doesn't mean it wouldn't be any different. We never seem to know how WWE will book some matches these days, as they'll make potentially great matches shit one month and then great the next.

Would be better if it wasn't Lesnar though so that there could be more build without costing them a fortune for him to appear and get physical.

Just seen the video. That was a proper punch, not like the usual kind you see wrestlers throwing... Sure it wasn't meant to be like that, but dam... Can see why it fucked her face up since she wouldn't have rolled with a punch she wasn't expecting to connect like that

So, a surprise was that they let Lesnar do more in this match than usual! His match with Bryan was great, and made up for my disappointment in them changing the match.

Rollins vs Nakamura was second best.

Cruiserweight third, but man were the crowd shit for that match. I guess that's what happens when the Cruiserweights aren't featured on regular WWE broadcasting. I don't watch 205 Live, so I had no reason to care about either guy, just like the crowd it seems. Was a pretty good match though. They should have the Title on PPV cards more often and show the fans who don't watch it some proper backstory to get them caring. Like some video packages on Raw or Smackdown.

I think Rousey and Charlotte come in joint third. They had a good match as well. The after match beatdown was awesome though. It's great to see some real intensity coming to the womens division and the fans are lapping it up. So much so that heel turns are getting cheered because it's not just bitch slapping someone. Goog times though!

Part of me agrees with that latter sentiment. Only thing about it is that Charlotte's characterization the past couple months jass been miserable, making her look weak, whiny and uncharacteristically do-good. So I feel there's a lot of dissonance between that and the post-match beatdown, beyond face/heel. Basically, I don't see her looking stronger for the attack by as much as I'd like.  It's a step, at least. If they turn her around to something more intimidating, I'll probably get back on board.

This was probably one of the better if not best wwe ppv of the year, not counting the take over shows.
