I watch the Superbowl each year but that's about it, lol.

Thanks Taker_2004 for the banner!
I watch as much NFL as I can, usually we get 1 random game a week on Sky Sports
I used to follow MMA soo closely, but I got fed up and annoyed with UFC a bit and as such stoped following it so much, I havnt actually sat and watched a full PPV (whether it be UFC, Bellator, or BAMMA) in a couple years now (except the last BAMMA because one of my mates was fighting on it, and I was there.. so it still doesn't count as I never watched it on TV haha) I judge on some local shows a couple times a year, but still cant bring myself to watch a full PPV at the moment... The fact I refuse to pay for ESPN also has something to do with it.
I never understood America's fascination with Baseball, it just seems like the most boring Sport in the world to watch and I have never really watched much Basketball either.

Snake and I do. Philadelphia Teams, baby!
Shaolin also enjoys sports as well, but don't think he's big on hockey.
The fact that idiots in this country still call Baseball "America's Past Time" is a damn joke. I agree 100%. It's the most boring, un-fan friendly sporting event in the world. It's slow, there is very little real action, it's long, and the season takes 9 months to complete. 162 games a year is ridiculous. Most of the players are on the juice too. There are suspensions every day it seems. American football is the real America's Past Time. It's the most popular sport in this country. That being said, I have always been a basketball guy. I have played since I was about 5 years old and did so for my schools. I love the sport and watch it quite a bit. I will say that MMA has taken my attention for the last 15 years or so. I love the multiple disciplines are meshed into one. Like every sport, it has it's negatives but I am a huge fan.
The post of this topic was to see if it was worth my time to post any America sports topics here or if I would just be having a conversation with myself.
I follow the Denver Broncos and the Philly Flyers. Have never really had a interest in Basketball, do enjoy watching the playoffs but have never really followed a team

I'll talk about the Jets, Yankees, and Knicks, or whoever they're playing. Fat Ass is right, no hockey for me. I can't skate and therefore never learned the rules when I was a kid like the other sports, so I can't really follow hockey. Plus those last names, I don't know who the fuck anyone is. Baseball is heading in that direction too. Everyone is Martinez or Cabrera. But at least with baseball even if I don't know who you're talking about I'll understand what you're talking about
Does MMA count as an American sport? I know it's predominantly UFC but there's Canadian MMA, Brazilian MMA and Japanese MMA that I follow along with some kickboxing promotions in the Netherlands and Japan too. So, I'm not quite sure.
I follow the NFL on occasion but I find myself getting bored with all the breaks. The culture of it just doesn't transcend like it does in football. I find the whole thing to be a little over the top to be honest.

I am a Panthers and Dolphins Fans. ABSOLUTELY HATE the Pats, Cowboys & Steelers.
I'm a Laker fan as well.
I watch all the MMA i can, even belator.
UFC, that's about it. Used to watch Strikeforce and WEC as well, but now it's just UFC.
Sweet. Now that I know I can have conversations with people about real sports, this should be more fun.
i watch everything. Got a fantasy team for nearly every sport and am I die hard Flyers/Phillies fan

Mets. Giants. Knicks. Rangers/Devils/Islanders keep it local in hockey. Premier League. Basically I'm a degenrate gambler as well, but those are my teams.
I use to be a huge UFC fan but not so much any more as it feels really pussified nowadays.
I think US sports have the best names for teams. The Trailer Blazers, Giants, Globe Trotters. Beats gay names like Man United and Chickens on top of beachballs any day.

The Trailer Blazers
Love it.

The Trailer Blazers
Love it.
It's Trailblazers.......
I watch Football, or on 4w I have to called it "American Football" and Basketball for the most part. Sometimes I will watch an occasional baseball game, but unless its the playoffs they really aren't that interesting.
I just have never gotten into soccer. I have tried but I guess it is the fact that their isn't much action at all in soccer. The fun parts happen few and far between.

^That's what I feel about American Football lol. It bores me. The constant stoppages seem normal to you obviously but it drives me nuts. One of the main reasons I can't usually sit down and watch it.

I understand both arguments, but it's hard to tell me you don't like American Football and come back with I like Soccer.
I mean soccer gets soooo boring. And in saying that I expect a massive backlash considering this forum is mostly made up of European chaps.

When does it get boring? I mean, I understand if you're talking about games where both teams play defensively and there's not enough action, but that's rare in Premier League games, especially with top clubs. Or is this a thing about there not being enough actual goals? Because if you like scorelines I can see that 49-42 is going to be better than 2-0, but there's a lot more to football than goals.

Dude....nothing happens. A 2-0 game is like a blow out. And I understand how there's mini battles, but this Soccer players drop like a sack of potatoes whenever someone comes near them. But I REALLY REALLY tried with soccer. I promise you I tried! Maybe its because I'm American and soccer is like the 8th sport here, but I just can't watch it, I do need more goals. I guess that's just my preference.
That being said, maybe the Premier League is different. I wouldn't know, I thought the world cup was a good way to showcase the sport, but didn't do much for me.
The only reason I even responded was b/c there was a soccer and American football comparison which killed me bc the NFL just isn't boring. Its not. If baseball was said then ok fine I get that, but football? Give me a break. I'll take the stoppages over nothing happening over the course of a game. A first down means something, a field goal means something, a touchdown is huge, sacks, interceptions, fumbles, 3rd and 4th down conversions.
If others wanna watch and enjoy the real Football that's fine enjoy yourself. But to watch soccer and turn and say American Football is boring just made me laugh.

Ha. I PLAYED soccer for 3 years in college, and I can see where a american football' guy would find it boring. Just remember that 'real' football is the base for rugby and american football.
Let's all just agree that BASEBALL is the true enemy, and boring as hell.
lol I'm really not trying to upset anyone here. I mean c'mon

Me personally, I am a Rugby player, Ive played it since I was knee high.... That being said, I do watch both Football (Soccer) and American Football and I can see why some people would think NFL etc can be boring at time because of the stoppages and it can be slow, Yes things that happen in the game can be huge and every yard counts etc, but I can see why someone would find constant stopping and starting boring especially if that's not what they are used to watching...
That being said, I can easily see why someone who isn't a great Soccer supporter would find Soccer boring, because some games can really be boring where nothing happens etc, so I can easily see where people come from there
It comes down to what you have grown up with etc, England is a huge Football (Soccer) place so most people here will be avid supporters and refute anyone claiming their sport was boring and the same can be said in reverse for America and Grid Iron...
If you really want to talk about boring sports, lets talk about Cricket.. Hell, you can play that game for whole days and it still end up being a draw... DAMN.... and then there is Baseball, Ive tried to watch it, hell I do like some baseball films etc, but watching an actual game of baseball I found so boring...

I get the feeling that I am one of the only American's here on the boards and I get excited when I see a new post in the sports thread but then I look and it's soccer or some shit I don't have the slightest interest in. I watch basketball, football (the American kind), and I follow MMA as closely as I do pro wrestling. Is there anyone else in my boat or am I doomed to see soccer posts dominating the sports forum?
