Reigns making himself look like a twat

Roman Reigns took to social media on Friday evening to respond to John Cena, who took a little dig a Reigns. And rightly so imo as Reigns made himself look like a right twat.

Reigns laughed whilst in a headlock during a match with Owens when Owens was mouthing off to the crowd. Reigns then later noted that he used to make more than Owens when splitting his merchandise royalties in three with the other two members of The Shield. No selling a headlock I can deal with as sometimes you can't help yourself laughing at certain things. But people bringing up pay with colleagues is real twatish and degrading even if he is joking. There's just certain things you don't do with colleagues. Jokes about pay is one of them.

This lead to Cena writing: "While [Roman Reigns] was making fun of what people earn I was at [Georgia Tech] to #EarnTheDay #recognize."

A few hours later, Reigns responded to Cena with: "What I #recognize is you have no clue whats going on here. So just power clean and make sure you clean your weights up. #GuestInMyHouse."

Owens might not really mind, but from an outsider (like all fans), Reigns doesn't come off good, especially considering he's the one that WWE want to be the face of the company. Maybe it's just me though. I've seen some fans saying he's out of order whilst others just find it hilarious that he couldn't keep his shit together whilst in a headlock.

Others think it could be the start of a feud. Lame if it is and people also seem to forget that they're on different brands, so start of a feud is very unlikely.

Main Event

Like a twat haha 😅

Nah, he does come across as a bit of a dick. It's like an unwritten rule of the workplace that you don't discuss pay or make jokes about it. At least it seems to be over here. Maybe America is different and they don't care. It's not the first time he's come across as a dick either and I'm sure it won't be the last. I love Owens though so won't accept anyone dissing him.

Funny how Cena calls him out on it. Jericho would have been fun as he'd have continued it after Reigns reply.

WWE clearly aren't annoyed by it though. Posts would have been removed by now else. They're probably just happy that Reigns didn't laugh like that during Raw or a PPV. Can get away with it at house shows.

What kind of moron laughs while selling a headlock? Fucking idiot.

Great way to kill kayfabe. Reigns is a cocky prick and it seems like he thinks he's something special when I think his several failed main event pushes have proved he isn't.

"Guest in my house" says Roman? Twat. Cena's worth ten of him.

The guest in my house thing is funny. Clearly big headed if he thinks he's at Cena's level or above. Cena beats him in all aspects any day of the week. If this arrogance is what he's like, I look forward to seeing more stupid stuff coming out.

Mid Card

Fuck him and fuck twitter.  Think about the kinda shit Flair and Ole would've said on twitter if it were around in the 70's....there would've been full on rioters waiting for them with flaming pitchforks at every venue.

"Dammit Ric, I told you...if I wanted my name on the marquee, I want it to be at the wrestling venue and NOT THE STRIP CLUB" - Arn Anderson

This is some pansy shit right here for real.  First off, it shouldn't be news that a wrestler broke character.  Dean Ambrose did it live on RAW with Jake Roberts putting the snake on him and it ruined what could've been a great moment because he's such an 80's mark.

Secondly, Reigns shouldn't even acknowledge the break in character.  He already does enough wrong to get such a shitty reaction from the crowd, what's one more minuscule thing?  Until they start doing a specific chant about this situation on RAW or a PPV at him, don't address it period.

Thirdly, y'all are right not to bring up pay whether joking or not.  It's part of what ruined the handshakes in the business because of The Kliq talking to each other backstage.  Chris Jericho mentions it in his book...when you're in a program with someone, you can take them down brick-by-brick and insult them until there is barely anything left but make sure you leave just enough of them to keep them credible so that it's still a big deal if and when you beat them either in a single match or in the entire feud.  And that translates perfectly backstage too I believe.

Overall, it was unfortunate he broke character but like it's been said, lucky it was at a house show.  He shouldn't have addressed it at all unless he was getting serious backfire for it on TV.  Owens is just too much of a savage toward fans that sometimes it's tough to keep in the snickers.  Dude is hysterical.

This is what bugs me the most.
